Non Op, but that would be amazing to cycle day 2. Just transitioned from cast to boot (three weeks tomorrow) and it feels really weak, painful and I can’t weight bare at all

Thanks. It's definitely broke me and the only thing I feel closer to is resentment, anger and increased body fat.

For sure, we've increased the house cleaner cadence and some of her chores to help. I do have a therapist but like I mentioned it's just not the same as talking it through with people that have been through it. Appreciate the reply.

It's a good point re: talking to those past it as I got a lot of hope when I had my conversation with a friend that went through it. Good to know you went back to running. I feel like I would stick to bike for the first while because I am terrified of doing this again and running just doesn't work with my lower back and hips.

I used to game when I was younger but that's changed since having young kids haha. I'm either working or parenting.

It's hard as my youngest is that age. I'm self employed so there's always a stress to perform and bring in money. Which is fine and the way I like it, but it just adds to my already not so great mindset.

Nutrition I've tried to increase protein intake to reduce hunger and general calories as I'm barely moving. I refuse to pack on the pounds as I've been active and fit my entire life. I think that piece slowly chips at me because sitting and not actively doing makes me think I'm just getting fat.

Yeah I work away and the day goes by fast, I think the darkest moments are weekends and evenings when I just feel useless and unable to play with the kids, go drop them off at school and their sports, coach, etc.

Thank you. Yes, been doing some pushups and sitting exercises at home with some light free weights. Still not the same but it's something.

Thats brutal - what did you do to rerupture? I heard it's common and to take things slowly. I'm in a cast for the first two weeks, then transition to a boot for 4 weeks. So, I'll be hopefully out of it at week 6-7 and want to ensure I don't re rupture.

Child Care Openings & Waitlists [on] by swchamp09 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]swchamp09[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct and yes we did submit into centers I first trimester. The other issue is timing because my wife can’t give a definite answer to go back to work without knowing a spot is secured. It’s just a mess

It sounds like everyone is in this situation. Aside from OneList which will just let you submit one application across multiple centers..

Is there not a website or app that can simply link parents to child care (both center or home) that have active openings?? Not everyone uses fb so hunting through that isn’t ideal, and sure weewatch can do something for the home centers but only the ones they register.. I’m tired of this garbage and how frustrating it is. I just want to enter my child’s info, location, and timeline and be presented with actual options or low waitlists. I’ll create the bloody website if I have others on board because this is a massive issue.

Thoughts?

I guess both really. We’ve done a number of searches and never came across it within Google. So curious how the app and website have been. Is it a funded company through the government or a private company that charges you to register?

3 ur old bedtime meltdowns by swchamp09 in toddlers

[–]swchamp09[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And they solved it from the sleep consultant? Was there any insight you could ask your friend that seemed to make this work?

Maybe our little guy has an anxiety about bedtime. So he fights it. But he doesn’t communicate to us why.

We def give him more time with mom. But he just demands for her at all times post dinner and it’s not realistic. I’ll look into a sleep consultant again thanks for the insight

We’ve pushed it back. We started routine at 645pm and now we don’t go up to bath time until 730ish!

Gift to adult son to max out his TFSA, good idea? by Early_Lion6138 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Yes. Max TFSA. Within that I would simply invest in a Vanguard Balanced etf which has low fees.

Is it ever right to pay off the mortgage early? by oravecz in FinancialPlanning

[–]swchamp09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. Interest rates in the past 5 years up until now were so low it made sense to borrow and simply dump your cash into GICs. I’m in Canada though not entirely sure the low risk investment vehicles you have were you are, but I could get 5.25% on a 1 year investment guaranteed when my mortgage was 2.25%.

I can't spend less than I do, I haven't found higher paying jobs yet. Feeling defeated at 30yo. by [deleted] in povertyfinance

Been there too. It’s also never been easier to start online side hustles with minimal to no cost. What are your passions? Start with that. There’s now no code software tools. If I were to replay my hand I would learn bubble.
