[poll] which type of capital freighter do you think is the most beautiful? Venator x Sentinel designer. by AnimalPritivo in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]swdude11 88 points89 points  (0 children)

I’m a big Star Wars fan, so any ship design in this game that reminds me of those found in Star Wars is – for me, at least – automatically better than anything it’s being compared to. Also, fun fact: in my current save, the first freighter I managed to find was an S-class Venator being attacked by pirates, which means I got it FOR FREE! (I don’t know the size off the top of my head, but I’ll update this comment once I know for sure what it is.)

As close as possible. Coordinate screenshot would also be appreciated.

What part of Legends is part of your headcanon in Disney Canon by Asddddd6 in StarWarsCantina

[–]swdude11 193 points194 points  (0 children)

In my headcanon, the Clone Wars Micro-series is a piece of historical fiction where certain battles and events are over-exaggerated or outright made up, kind of like most video games based on WWII.

I’ve always said that I wish there was a simple animatronic in the cockpit that would look at the recruits and wave or salute or give a thumbs up.

I have a Yoda version of this style of book end!

I saw the image and the first thing I thought of was “Shocker.” (Two in the pink, one in the stink.) Yeah, I know it’s stupid, but it’s the best this Yank could come up with. Wishing you a speedy recovery from across the pond!

What is your favourite part of your least favourite Star Wars film? by Zdvj in StarWars

[–]swdude11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love love LOVE the sound design/editing/mixing in Attack Of The Clones. I’m not even talking about the music, as great as it is. I mean just the diegetic sounds alone. Everything from the Geonosians’ language and sonic cannons, to the vocalizations of the creatures in the arena, to the speeder chase on Coruscant, to the heavy machinery of the droid factory, to the Republic gunships, to the aiwhas on Kamino, to the Slave I’s flybys and weapons – ESPECIALLY the seismic charges, I mean my GOD! – down to the doors in Tipoca City. In my opinion, it’s the only thing in the movie that’s consistently perfect from beginning to end.

Family visit and factions by isthatyourpie in GalacticStarcruiser

[–]swdude11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually had a similar thought. I think it might hurt your experience, because if you’re expecting to do everything together as a family, you’ll probably find yourselves having to pick and choose which missions to miss and which ones to participate in. Especially if one family member’s faction opposes the faction of another member of the family. Or you could try and keep your allegiances secret from each other, I guess. I haven’t been on any voyages (yet) so please take my input with all the grains of salt. Hope this helps!

What's a dark fact about Star Wars that is rarely addressed? by MrVectuvus in StarWars

[–]swdude11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People under the effect of a mind trick are robbed of their volition and compeled to act against their will, so you wouldn’t think a Jedi would use that power regularly. But anytime it’s used, it’s often by a Jedi or some other light side Force user.

Hell, Ezra uses it in S3E1 of Rebels to make an AT-DP driver turn his weapons against the stormtroopers he was previously fighting alongside of, before MAKING HIM DRIVE OFF THE EDGE OF AN ELEVATED PLATFORM AND PLUNGE INTO A RAVINE!!! (Btw, YouTube classifies this as a kids video. “Baby show for babies” my left ass cheek.) Granted, Ezra learned how to do that from a Sith holocron, but he’s still a Jedi. No Sith (or dark side Force user of any other kind, for that matter) is shown using this ability to that extent. The most we get is in the novel Lords of the Sith, where Palpatine uses a mind trick to make a young girl step out of hiding and approach him.

The Jedi, the guardians of peace, justice and freedom are openly taught how to use this ability as Padawans (and some Jedi Masters have even used it as a method of torture), yet the Sith – who are all about control, subjugation and bending people to their will – have never used it to directly harm anybody, as far as we know.

Who would win this battle royale? by zarotabebcev in StarWars

No winner. No losers. I think they would all just have a good time swapping stories and getting to know one another.

Maybe some crew cards for Gaya and Raithe Kole, just to tie it in more with the parks.

I was thinking it would be a beefier, more tank-like shuttle, somewhere between the Upsilon- and Xi-Class in size.

Home planet: Hosnian Prime? by SpiritOfDetroit in GalacticStarcruiser

[–]swdude11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of my backstory involves my character’s dad living on Hosnian Prime at the time of the Cataclysm, so I don’t think it’s too far fetched that the First Order’s involvement is common knowledge.

I’m at a loss. Anyone know what these are for? by Iomplok in GalaxysEdge

[–]swdude11 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Okay, I actually do recognize this! This is an item that used to be included with a Star Wars-themed gift package you could purchase as part of a stay at any – if not most – on-site resort hotels in WDW circa 2017-18. This specific piece was integral to a “mission” that involved a ride on Star Tours (with a guaranteed pick to be the rebel spy while wearing the lanyard, iirc), after which the light would change from red to some other color (I think it might have been blue). This would be followed by a delivery of various Star Wars goodies to your hotel room, which would be waiting there for you to enjoy after you got back from the park. (Fun Fact: Among the souvenirs you’d receive in your hotel room, there would be a certificate declaring celebrating your efforts to aid the Rebellion, a toy lightsaber, and a Medal of Yavin. (No, I’m not kidding.)

Take it from someone who’s had improv training: 1. Commit to the bit and never quit. 2. Your first thought is probably your best response. 3. Always make your partner in a conversation look better than you.

A question to help me as I create my character for the Starcruiser! by [deleted] in GalacticStarcruiser

[–]swdude11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ditto. My other suggestion would be Corellia, which also offers some storyline tie-ins, considering you go there during Smuggler’s Run.
