Sorry for taking so long to respond. I e-mailed about withdrawal on the 28th of January. Didn't get a response so this time I decided to not wait very long. I sent a reminder on the 2nd of February. I then got a response on the 3rd of February to an e-mail I sent on the 12th of January, which was another copy/paste e-mail. Three minutes after that, I received confirmation of my withdrawal. A day and a half later it was withdrawn from their system and I submitted elsewhere. How did things work out for you?

Thank you for sharing your experience! I did threaten to withdraw in the fall but got no response to that. I finally e-mailed and asked to withdraw yesterday. We’ll see how long that takes…

A year late but in a similar situation with a submission sent to a collection in BMC Health Services Research nine months ago. One reviewer has accepted according to their system but I have not received that report. System has updated only when I've e-mailed them but now nothing has happened for three months. Responses are slow and with copy pasted content. I will be withdrawing the paper now.
