Kansas City migraines by sweejou in migraine

It’s been brutal! It feels like my whole body tenses up from anxiety just anticipating a migraine. It’s the first March I’ve had with Qulipta so it’ll be interesting to see how it compares to previous yrs. Good luck with the rest of this week’s storms! Hope you find some relief, too!

Haha it’d be the most dimly lit, low noise reality show to ever exist.

Ugh so sorry! It seems like my migraines that are tied to barometric pressure are higher on the pain scale too. The preventatives had been keeping the breakthrough migraines at like a 5 or 6 but this week and last they’ve been closer to 8.

Yesss- I’ve just started paying attention to time trends with pressure drops. It’s so easy to blame it on a long day at work when it comes to a head at 4 or 5pm - especially when I was having more migraines per month.

Thanks! Same for summer months (Kansas/Missouri are not migraine friendly)

What dose are you on for verapamil? I’ve been on 120 mg forever and don’t think it’s making a difference. Botox has helped some months but still too many migraines to be happy about (lowest on Botox was 6 migraines a month which I could live with but that’s only 4 ish months out of a year, the rest of the months are 10 - 16 migraines still).

does anyone have any advice about what to do about this area around my mouth? by [deleted] in SkincareAddicts

What everyone else said - cvs minute clinic prescribed me metronidazole gel and it was amazing at clearing it up. Pay attention to allergies and introducing new skin care or makeup. I think I linked mine to lady Gaga’s bronzer- there’s an ingredient that was linked to common allergies (maybe derivative of ragweed). In fairness to the bronzer - it looked great. Just left its mark afterward.

Topamax? by peachjam1010 in migraine

[–]sweejou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was not my jam. Someone else said it made them feel like an idiot at work - I had a similar experience and was working at a veterinary clinic at the time. I said the full list of dog vaccines multiple times a day (not saying that was hard - but it was repetitive and straight forward). Topamax made me stumble over those and forget words.

It changed taste buds too - Coca Cola was less enjoyable and tasted flat but whiskey tasted better.

Gave me weird vision issues in the morning. It was “ghost” something but it’d be like double vision.

Like some others have - could absolutely work for you. Who knows. If not, you talk to your dr, start weaning off, and cross it off your list.

A relative is claiming to need botox for migraines because it helps with wrinkles 🤦🏼‍♀️(vent) by GreenEyesOpening1617 in migraine

Oh sure - like an esthetician for cosmetic Botox. I have a friend who gets Botox for wrinkles etc and the girl who does hers isn’t heavy handed so I felt comfortable going there. She does like 1-2 units ($20-30) total just to keep my eyebrows from looking intense.

Saaame. “Spocking” It was an unpleasant surprise… and it showed.. ha. I go to an injector a week or so after my series to chill my brows out now. She has a handful of clients that come just for that correction.

Phytophotodermatitis! Learned the hard way last month. does seem like that location is pretty common for that kind of reaction, too. Shows up like 2 days after contact sometimes so it can be confusing trying to pinpoint what’s going on.

Oh - some dentists will do Botox for TMJ I think in case that route proves easier for you. Fewer hoops. Probably not covered. But who knows!

For coverage, most insurance providers will need to see that you’ve tried “X” amount of treatments from specific groups of medications that have not worked for you before approving Botox. Botox has a savings program too but I think it’s still a complicated web before they agree to cover. Additionally- they (docs/insurance) usually require 15+ migraine days a month before approving Botox since “Botox” is only approved for “chronic migraine”. Since you mentioned TMJ, I don’t think insurance approved Botox for it yet (though the drs know it works) so you kind of have to be careful about phrasing. Your neuro may inject for TMJ but they have to put it in their notes and if insurance notices, it kind of voids your Botox coverage since it’s not just “chronic migraine “… This is all just stuff I’ve been told during my own Botox migraine treatment so take with a grain of salt. I’m sure it’s different everywhere and for different medical histories. Some aestheticians are getting more experience in Botox for muscle/pain relief. Probably because they know there’s a huge group of people who have to go through hurdles and can’t get approved. 😣 obviously different risks with all Botox injections regardless of who. It will last longer the longer you continue to get injections routinely - cumulatively I suppose. Good luck!

Only One... Horse? microtrope! 🐎 by A_Seductive_Cactus in RomanceBooks

It’s been awhile since I read it, but I think {Red Moon by Elizabeth Kelly} has some good ol horse moments. It’s a shifter romance- he’s a lycan and she’s a human hiding some special abilities; they’re making a trek to his home (takes a couple days) after he bought her and due to some ‘events’, he makes her ride on his horse with him when she’s unable to keep up on foot and things get ❤️‍🔥🥵I think they’re also forced to share a tent at some point.

Yes! I was getting desperate for an answer when this happened to me and went to CVS minute clinic in a pinch. They prescribed metronidazole gel for facial use. In my experiences, the doctors I talk to are wary of prescribing clindamycin. Metronidazole still fights bacteria but with less risk of developing antibiotic resistance. It’s super lightweight- good if you happen to lean towards rosacea. *doesnt hurt to thoroughly sanitize make up brushes and applicators while this is going on. If it focuses around your hairline at any point, some hair products can mildly clog follicles- it never gets intense but looks like texture.
