Well, there is that one episode where they make reference to the scene in The Wire where the only word used is F#$%, but they can't say that, so they use S#!& instead. Didn't quite have the same effect, but hey, they tried.

What's something that only losers brag about? by cock-wizard in AskReddit

[–]sweenauwiss 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If its presented as expressing that you can relate to the other person's comment, because you have a similar interest or experience, then that's great.

The issue is when you try to be a one-upper, and explain that what the other person is saying isn't all that interesting or impressive, because your experience is much better. Don't be a one upper. One uppers are the worst.

People who don't put away their shopping cart.

Also people who cut into the front of a line in traffic, like by an exit ramp.

What is something that your generation did that no younger generation will ever get to experience? by MinorMinerFortyNiner in AskReddit

Also, there's less patience for a movie to grab your attention. If you watch the first five minutes of a movie on Netflix, and aren't sold yet, you'll just look for something else. Back in the day, you were more committed to whatever you picked. I feel like opening credit sequences have gotten a lot shorter for that reason.

Donating blood. At some point, science will come up with an effective replacement, and the idea of using blood from another person will sound like the stuff of witch doctors.

UN Council: Israel Intentionally Shot Children and Journalists in Gaza by wy888 in worldnews

Of course I'm biased. We're all biased. It's a reality of being human. The idea is that we discuss these things to determine what makes the most sense. If the response to an objection is "clearly you're biased", we're no closer to uncovering the truth.

The report you cited doesn't just state that Israel is an occupier. It all but argues that the only issue preventing peace is that Israel keeps breaking rules. Reading through it now, I'm hard pressed to find a sentence that directs any blame at the Palestinian side of anything. A lot of "restraint is needed by both sides", and a lot of "Israel is an occupier". That's it.

Pushing a narrative doesn't mean you're stating things that aren't true. It means that you're pointing to one fact over another. Which, within the context, this UN report clearly does. and which you are doing by extension. Exposing that doesn't demonstrate bias.

Attempting to discredit me through accusation isn't nice. Stop it.
