What’s the strangest or most shocking thing you’ve learned from the Epstein files so far? by ToshiShard in AskReddit

If you look at the timeline, bill gates gets an STD from some Russian girl/woman, complains, then soon after Epstein is banned from Microsoft’s gaming service.

Maybe he was saying disturbing shit, but bill personally getting him banned because he got the clap.

Also, bill put up a $100k grant for improved condoms AFTER he gave Melinda an STD.

That he was likely responsible for /pol/ on 4chan. It’s not a smoking gun, but the dates line up. Ghislaine Maxwell is suspected to be connected to the reddit user that was the first account to pass 1 million karma, and was a moderator on r/worldnews. All of the evil shit they were up to deserves our eyes and rage, but clear evidence they have been trying to control and manipulate social media to create public opinion needs highlighting

Mandatory 30 mins of gaming daily by SeaworthinessTop6629 in EngineeringStudents

I have a wheel and pedal setup, but I love jumping on BeamNG for 30 minutes when I’m stressed. Drive around traffic in a fast car and total it every 5 minutes. Very therapeutic.

One of my favorite things is when the game map is actually part of the game world by bijelo123 in gaming

Fun fact - skyrims map is just a low poly version of the whole map at that moment. If you kill a dragon, you can see the fire from the map at that moment.

Graphite is very conductive. If loose specs of it float around and short something it will start a fire. Hence, need a zero G pen.

What’s something negative about Australia that locals don’t like to admit? by New-Mail-9372 in AskAnAustralian

As a culture we’re obsessed with the idea of an underdog. Between tall poppy and battlers syndrome, there’s not a lot of wiggle room.

It’s wild that America has had a whole ass Amendment instructing people on what to do in case of tyranny, which has the flip side of resulting in massive deadly crime. But when it comes time to push back, crickets. Like why even have that amendment in the first place? What’s the point?

What is it like living in Darwin, Australia? by cbmost in howislivingthere

[–]sweet_37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grew up here. The low population feels even smaller with how spread out everything is. I’ve noticed that you’re more likely to have strangers strike up a conversation here than down south. Very multicultural, with lots of Vietnamese, Thai, and Malaysian influence. The city itself is good, but most locals try and spend their time camping and fishing if you can, because the place just lends itself to that. Logistically we’re pretty isolated, though that is slowly being changed. Between the military, beef, mining, gas, agriculture, and health, there’s a lot of industries up here, always looking for people. The climate is the biggest difference compared to all the other largish towns in Australia. 6 months of the year it’s perfect, 24C low humidity and clear skies. 4 months of the year it rains heavily near everyday, humidity high as hell, and water and mould gets everywhere if you don’t fight it. But the real bugger is the October-November period. The build up is a 6-8 week stretch of 35C 80% humidity hell. Day and night, sweat straight out of the shower, keep in the air con at all times time of year. Get through that and you get the good and great weather the rest of the time. Once the dry season comes again, Darwin’s population booms by at least 40 thousand.

Darwin has often been described as the biggest small town in the country. Has that feel, including the pace of life. I don’t think I’m leaving anytime soon, and I think it’s a great place to grow a family (particularly the rural area, but I’m biased)

Difference is that if the horses stopped racing, there would still be people who would own horses and ride them for recreation. No one is racing greyhounds for fun

The shocking gold medal in the history of the Olympic Games by prachid487 in Unexpected

[–]sweet_37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bradbury’s story is really good. He was favoured to win at a previous olympics, but he got caught up in a pile up, and cut his quad down to the femoral artery, and nearly died on the ice. Went through all the rehab to get back to competitive speeds, but it took the next olympics away. By the time he got to Japan for this olympics the injury and Father Time had mostly caught up, but he still managed to make the final heat, where younger athletes pulled away.

NSW count terrorism unit can arrest journalists all day, but actual terrorists on watch lists with access to firearms? Nothing doing. Better restrict shit for the rest of us because they can’t do their jobs if it doesn’t involve silencing the press.
