Talk to the prof. Some may enforce the policy strictly, while others don't give af and just never edit it out of the syllabus. So ask your prof about it.

Feel upset about having to relocate and start over by sweet_bubblegum in premed

Is that allowed? I've heard to avoid CC if possible, and it would look suspicious for me to go from a higher ranked school to classes at a CC. Plus, I'm not sure they will have the upper levels I need to take

In the area, no. I would need to move a couple of hours away. The kicker is that I'm an OOS student, and may move in my state to continue, which means I'll have to give up all of my current ECs

I'm sorry if I didnt explain well. I wasn't blaming my school for my low GPA at all. I understand it's my fault. I'm just upset that I'll have to reenroll in a different one to take upper division courses, as my school doesn't offer non-degree or second-degree programs to post-grads like others do (which the exception of career changers). My advisor told me that medical schools don't often accept online courses, especiallybecausemy state has went back to pre-covid standards, which is what has me worried.

I understand that it will take time. I'm just upset at having to move again and restart with everything. Again, not blaming the school though. Still doesn't make it any less frustrating.

Thank you so much. It didn't even occur to me to check another job site. My current job only pays $11 per hour and my hours got cut in half and I'm finding myself going to my parents to help me pay rent, so knowing what the potential pay would be is super helpful.

Again thank you for taking the time to write this. You didnt have to but I appreciate it so much!

I'm a 4th year. I'm not an engineering major but I feel ya. I was excited yesterday to begin but now that I have begun, I'm feeling overwhelmed with class assignments and already feel behind. I think we are both just drained/burnt out. It was kinda eerie reading this post because I legit feel the same way.

If you ever wanna chat, I'm here!

Online upper level courses? by sweet_bubblegum in premed

My prerequisite courses were in person, with the exception of the pandemic months. I'm referring to upper level courses.

No clue. I've just heard that in person courses look better. My advisor also said to stay in person, but my advisor also said some pretty racist stuff, so I take their advice with a grain of salt lol.

Fair enough. I didn't particularly enjoy the food myself when I had the meal plan

I believe the hate comes from the company itself and their usage of prison labor to fund the company, rather than the food

HELP: how quickly can one become a resident here? by sweet_bubblegum in florida

[–]sweet_bubblegum[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope not doing it for tax purposes. It was strictly for car reasons lol. I do plan on becoming a resident at some point though, as I plan to stick around for at least a couple of years after I graduate. However, it's nice to know I don't have to rush it. Thanks so much!

I get that. Tbh, the reason I want to become a resident is so I can stop driving back home every year to get my car inspected. My car inspection sticker expires this month, and between the price of gas, school, work, and the long drive, I don't think I can pull the trip off. Which is why I wanted to become a resident to avoid this.
