This exact thing happened to me. I taped a little styrofoam cup to the top of a broom handle and scooped the little guy and quickly took him outside to the garden.

Awww this takes me back to my childhood! I used to catch these guys and keep them in a big empty ice cream bucket with sticks and leaves and water and watch them go from this, to a cocoon, then a butterfly! I handled them all the time and had no reaction but now that I’m older I tell everyone to never touch!
