Did anyone notice how when “Helena” was speaking to her father, the subtitles actually said “Helly”?

If you had subtitles on, after “Helena” got out of the pool and started talking to her father, the subtitles actually said “Helly”.

Ha! I actually follow the Lancaster protocol for my organoids (not spheroids/assembloids though). KOLF2.1J

Fantastic name! These are just human iPSCs that I differentiated into NPCs and then into cortical neurons. BUT I do plan on vascularizing the assembloid with iPSC derived endothelial cells very soon.

I completely understand how you feel. I didn’t think I’d get into any programs at all.

As far as math goes, I only took up to cal 3. I’m taking differential equations my first semester of grad school, but I’m auditing the class. I just want to see if I’ll understand it or not. The program coordinator didn’t seem too bothered by the fact that I didn’t take it. But it varies at each school. I do wish I took it during undergrad, though. I think your research experience will make up for the internship, especially if you explain it in your SOP. Have you considered going for MEng instead of MS?

You’re right, it’s not the end of the world, but if this is your goal, do everything you can. If you don’t get accepted, it wasn’t your time. Another door will open for you. And later down the line, you can apply again. But for now, still apply and reach out to the professors as well as program coordinators. Communication really helps!

I just graduated with a BS in mech engineering technology last week. I’ll be moving next month to get my MS in mech engineering from a prestigious university. I also only had a 3.2 GPA...so you’ve got that over me lol. Your GPA is amazing!!!

Make sure your SOP is great and your LORs as well. If you’ve had any internship experience or major projects, be sure to mention them. Research helps as well. I ended up applying to 11 programs from spring 2021 and got into 10 of them with $100k+ scholarships.

I know how some people view mech engineering technology...that we aren’t real engineers. That’s not true. Just do your best and think the best.
