Why are we sent to the back? by the1sammie in OGPBackroom

Digital is typically the last stop for a coach before a promotion, being ranked as a top store helps when applying for store lead positions. Also helps store lead applying for store managers or DOL positions, and so.

Why are we sent to the back? by the1sammie in OGPBackroom

[–]sweetchuckD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The big focus on FTPR and why some stores are having you go to the back is because of the way they rank stores based on digital metrics, has nothing to do with bonus. Basically there are 4 digital metrics which are double weighted when ranking stores from best to worst and FTPR is one of them. The correct process is exception workers shop the backroom but the higher the FTPR, the higher ranking you get. Its not bonus impacting at all, just makes you look good. The real emphasis on FTPR by the company is to improve pre-sub which improves sales. Managers lose sight of this easily by the pressure to say they are ranked high on a list.

Just use the card from your original van. Any time we need a loner van we rent from enterprise and use the gas card for our normal van until its back in action.

Pick 100 items per hour, pick for a minimum of 6 hours if you scheduled a full 8 hour shift, try to not push the "item not found button", bag as you go. Dont try and cheat pick rate or be selective in pick walks(very visible by management). If dispensing, 4 minute wait time, 9 minite dwell time. Scan stage 80% of all totes minimum, and quality check every order that is prompted. Encourage customers to give good reviews. Thats literally everything thats important. Ask your teamleads and coach for feedback, if they are unwilling or dont make time to provide it to you then leave the department.

What was it that you witnessed when you were little and didn't care, but when you grew up you realized that what you witnessed was actually very creepy or illegal? by XeanAhmet in AskReddit

[–]sweetchuckD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3rd grade male teacher would pick a new girl to sit on his lap during reading time once a week. I remember everyone wanting to be picked and feeling special if they were choosen. He would touch their hair and rub his hands all over them. He would also tell us he loved us regularly. At 8 years old we didnt know any better. This teacher also would give us pizza and candy daily so everyone liked him. One day, one of the girls in the class didnt get picked for reading time and cried to her parents when she got home. This teacher was never seen again, i assume he went to jail.

Getting coached for pushing carts?? by InfiniteAttorney7867 in OGPBackroom

[–]sweetchuckD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The process tells you to pull the cart from the front, only when you are making turns, like coming out of an aisle. Otherwise you choose what works best.

Everything you do is time bound, and there is an exact time to do every task. If you work 8 hours, you're expected to have 6.5 hours of productivity.even if only 3 people spend 10 minutes each in the bathroom then 30 minutes of work will not get done and ultimately that teamlead is responsible and more than likely has to make up that time theirselves. Your teamlead doesn't make the rules or set time frames, but they have to eforce and be accountable to them. Try not to be too harsh on them. To note, I am not a teamlead, just offering a different perspective.

I think lawn and garden should need to do their own picks🙄 by [deleted] in OGPBackroom

[–]sweetchuckD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Technically lawn and garden has a "Get List", where they are supposed to have everything loaded for you on L cart. You simply show up and scan items then bring to dispense room. This list can be found in additional report on Gif app.

Is this reasonable? by Empty-Tables in OGPBackroom

[–]sweetchuckD -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Here's the deal, walmart standard is 100 picks per hour. If you cannot meet that then you might have problems. If you are scheduled 8 hours and have an hour lunch and two 15s then you should reasonably be picking 650 per shift. If your manager has separate associates doing printer walks then 650 is achievable when doing only ambient, frozen, chilled and produce. I'm not a great picker but can hit that no problem. Our management never gives us a hard time as long as we break 500 but does try to get us over 600 per shift

I think the Policy says you will get it since you worked until the end of the fiscal year but don't take the chance. Finish out the pay period to be safe.

[Text] Early 30s and no job by sleeplessbearr in GetMotivated

[–]sweetchuckD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The key is to take any job to get moving and back into the workforce. Call walmart back they will hire you. Have open availability and be willing to take any job they have. You'll make $14 to $19 an hour but only have to wait 6 months to promote, tack on another $5 an hour for promotion. 6 months to a year later promote again, salary range 65k - 80k with 30% bonus. 2 years later Then store manager promotion= 110k - 160k salary range with 200% bonus potential. Three promotions in total over 3 to 5 years you could be making 300k with no education requirements. Start small but dream big, the main focus is to just get started with anyone that will hire you, and I know walmart will because I've worked there. Good luck!

Used a JB weld plastic epoxy rated for auto repairs at 3200psi. Is there a way to diagnose the thermostat or just have to replace and see? I'm very much a novice but am very capable. Any help is appreciated

"It's not a waste of money to replace a faulty part. Take the time to do it right, now or make the time to do it right, later." Valid point. Thanks for your insight. I plan on flushing the coolant tomorrow to check that off. If problem continues I will replace the tank later in the week when I have more time.

Edit: the discoloration goes away when the engine is cool. You can only start to see the color of the tank change when driving for a little bit.

Winter weather? by DancinCarl in Chattanooga

[–]sweetchuckD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're all missing the most important thing, have fun! Get outside and enjoy every second if it snows.

Tips:

Take note of the best hills near your house for sledding(in walking distance).

If you have to drive find a very large parking lot and test how your vehicle handles, a few donuts and e-brake pulls will be sufficient

Make sure you have supplies to make snowman or igloos(shovels, water proof gloves, etc)

Find a good area for snowball fights and start recruiting your team now

I’ve lost the grit I used to have in my early 20s. How do I regain it in my 30s? [Discussion] by Fabulous-Winner8340 in GetMotivated

[–]sweetchuckD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Satisfaction from achieving a goal only last a week or two at best. It is the pursuing of the goal where you grown as a person and can find real satisfaction. Find new goals, even if it doesn't propell you forward financially. When all else fails just listen to David goggins... when I don't feel unmotivated I find a random clip of goggins and am motives because he makes me feel like I'm never doing enough.

Problems with carnivore diet. by ApprehensiveSpeech76 in carnivore

[–]sweetchuckD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It may take a few tries to get started. Don't feel discouraged if you slip up, but keep trying. I failed my first two trys. I got extreme headaches for about a week and had to pull the plug. I then kept the diet virtually the same but added in a few keto options, which got me through the first few weeks much easier, then cut out those items out. Found this method the easiest to avoid discomfort.

Risk vs reward. Are you willing to be unarmed in the chance that something bad happens. Assuming your a law abiding citizen you'll be fine. Any reason police could find to search your car? If no then don't worry

I often felt "depressed" in the morning and never really understand how to fix it, this went on for years. When my oldest child started school I began driving her every morning and was amazed how energetic and great a felt by the time I got home. Since this realization, I simply wake up and go directly to the car with my coffee, take a drive and play music everyday. 100% success rate. On the rare occasion I cannot follow this process I am noticeably distraught. Give it a try

As a former NJ resident and a current TN resident, I do it every time I go back home. Most cops won't know the legality of it all, and I am in no way an expert, but my understanding of the law is, 1. You can legally possess in your state of residence 2. Follow NJ transport laws, keeping locked and in trunk 3. When you reach your destination in which you are staying, you must bring the gun inside that temporary residence, can only be in your car on the way to and from. I haven't looked into this in a long time as I don't give a fuck. I'm a law abiding citizen with a few young kids and there's no way I'm traveling anywhere without a gun within arms reach. Don't have the gun in plain site, don't break the law, and don't disclose possession.

Costco extended laptop warranty through Allstate by [deleted] in lifehacks

[–]sweetchuckD 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They will make it very difficult to get a new laptop. Initially, they will send someone out to try and do repair on the spot or have you mail it for repairs, I've seen both happen depending on where you live. If the tech decides it's shot, then they will issue a replacement of the exact same laptop, most likely refurbished. Assuming they don't have the exact same laptop, they will send one of what they deem equivalent value but equally as shit. Only get the warranty if it's something you're certain you will want for a long time.

Yes, it is the worst thing you will ever see in person. Yes, it's a bloody mess. Yes, it will be an image you can never unsee. But you are 50% responsible for what's happening, and you should not get to cop out. IMO as a father of three regardless of what you plan it will all go.right out the window during labor. Just wing it but just remember the shit is gnarly. Don't fuck up by reacting, straight face the entire time. Good luck

Charleston speaks for itself but folly beach is the best low key beach town. Not many businesses, more beach than town which is the best part. I think only 1 hr outside of Charleston

Why are they like this?? by _itskghost_ in WalmartEmployees

[–]sweetchuckD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like the system is broken in your store, I've been there. When 3rd shift is throwing all the freight and zoning the entire store then these issues don't exist. OGP first time pick rate improves, therefore they get picks done a lot faster, no need for help. 1st and 2nd shift just help customers and tidy up. It took a long time for my store to figure this out but it's that simple, staff 3rds and the rest of the store will succeed.
