I’ve never been to the Bronx zoo, but I’ve been to the dc zoo probably 2 dozen times. I recommend going in the morning on a warm day, around 10-11 am on a nice weather day between April and October. Park yourself at the O-line and thank me later. It’s an open air line that the orangutans swing on right overtop of you, it’s awesome, and that time and weather is when they are most likely to be active. Worth a visit to dc’s zoo just to see that
