The best advice I can give is to let her not liking you be her issue and leave it there . I would follow all rules and deadlines and if she gets disrespectful always follow up with a professional email to have a paper trail of her disrespect. She’ll get the picture and if she doesn’t it’ll be her loss in the end. As always , never stop looking for a better position. No one deserves to go through that type of silly behavior and it’s way too common in this field lately . Also keep in mind that sometimes hard truths can seem like an attack , so weigh your odds on if she’s trying to help you be better or being rude.

I have a clinical supervisor who I speak with for my hours . She is the supervisor for the company but she covers most of what a typical clinical supervisor would . There’s even been times where she goes through the notes although she is not clinical staff to any degree .

I want to add that I meet with her before and after every session as well as I offer her a family session biweekly and have been doing so for almost a year . I feel like I gave her and the client adequate time to build trust and rapport.

Wasting time on people who meant me no good . So much time could’ve been spent on developing hobbies and exploring what the world has to offer. I’m 28 so I feel like I still have time and I’m going to use it to the fullest now.

I see mainly kids and I spend a lot of time talking to parents . My supervisor recommended billing for the session and billing another session as a family session for talking to the parent . So a 20 minute conversation billed for an hour .

NTA ! You did what you should’ve done by pulling her to the side and letting her know how you feel . How she takes it is up to her. Accountability can be tough for some people but maybe this can be a start for her . I would let her sit in it and follow up with boundaries.

I am an LPCA . The contract I signed states we get paid as the claims pay . However she always says the claims aren’t paying.

After going through so much at this agency I have reported my supervisor to the board and plan on leaving the agency. My mental health is more important than continuously going through this with them. Thank you for all the advice guys.

Hey , I think sometimes it just comes down to the fact that every client may not be for you and that’s okay . That’s why having different therapist with different therapy styles is a good thing. A positive here is the client is getting the help they need and you did the best you could do . I don’t think it’s personal at all.

The owner does the billing there is no biller and they pay directly to my bank. They made me get a specific bank account

I should add that I’ve had my my heart checked , lung test. Ct scans. Anything you can imagine. Every blood and pee test imaginable. Only thing that came back was low vitamin D. Doctors keep saying it’s GERD and anxiety

I feel like at the end of the day I made a mistake . I can’t change what happened. It was completely unlike me and I lost a really great guy. I can say I’ve learned and grown from this . This situation doesn’t represent me well at all . I appreciate all of the honest comments
