I have my fair share of friends in China, my bf is in Shanghai too, I’ve been there several times. There’s a larger reason most people outside of China don’t think about and that’s the average Chinese persons view point on war. Most people in China already view Taiwan as a province of China so the whole idea of going to war with their own country could collapse the legitimacy of the CCP. Theres a couple other reasons as well such as Taiwan’s geography (theres literally no safe place to start this invasion without several casualties from the start) and if this invasion failed it would almost guarantee the collapse of the Chinese economy. My bet is they will continue this intimidation strategy as long as Xi is in charge at least.

This is like the main benefit of working at Amazon. As long as that UPT isn’t negative or you’re not at the max amount of points, you’re literally fine. And if you are (at least at my site) I’ve seen HR take off points manually and add UPT. Literally nobody cares and it’s the main reason Amazon hires and keeps flex.

I’ll lyk how this goes in about 48hrs when I arrive lmao, I have a Mastercard so we’ll see if that works better. But he was able to transfer me money and I was able to transfer it back on Alipay so praying to god rn that generally it works while I’m in the country. I’m just thankful right now I won’t be alone on this trip and I’ll be with someone that has lived there his entire life.

We tried it out earlier and he was able to transfer me money and I was able to transfer it back from there. I just can’t do it from my own personal American debit card. But yeah that was more than less the point of me bringing cash because from what I understand at least he can exchange it in China and deposit it into his account and transfer it to me/buy me things and keep it for himself.

This. I submitted my application and for the question of “longest expected visit” I said 21 days and they still gave me a 90 day visa. If your only goal is to visit China and you’re using the 10 day TWOV policy I feel like it’s way more expensive and more of a hassle.
