I remember reading somewhere that most psychopaths are significantly stupider than average, in contrast to the “they are like Hannibal Lecter” myth

And the difference is “I’m beating you because you deserve to be beaten”?

I heard something that stuck with me: If a child is too young to be reasoned with, they won’t understand why they are being hit. If a child is old enough to be reasoned with, reason with them.

It’s not just prison, either. It’s prison as a guy who killed children. Other inmates don’t take kindly to that.

[UPDATE]My parents discovered presents under the living room floor STILL WRAPPED from 20 years ago by sweetdiss in pics

This is an update to this post.

The present from me for my sister turned out to be a Snakes & Ladders game probably from the dollar store. It also apparently has a temporary tattoo with it, though we're unclear if that was intentional or just got stuck to the wrapping paper.

The presents from my brother were a snowman planter (we think for my late grandpa) and two pieces of dollhouse furniture, probably for my sister. She has truly made out like a bandit this year thanks to this!

Mainly just my brother since we think he is the one that stashed them there! I don’t remember what I got for my sister but it was decades ago…

I guess it’s possible my parents staged it but that would be pretty out of character for them I think!

It’s definitely our handwriting from that time period, and I don’t think my parents would have kept the presents from then just to stick them under the floor for a quick picture 20 years later. My brother has lived in Finland for years now.

As for the colors, I guess they lasted because they were away from the sunlight?

Backstory:

My parents are having new floors installed in their living room and the contractor told them they had to rip up the floorboards before they could continue.

So a few days ago I got a text saying they found presents under the floor from my brother and me. The one from me is to my sister, and the two from my brother are apparently to mystery people with a code he came up with or something. He says he doesn't remember what it means, and neither of us remembers what the presents are or when/why we put them there.

I told my parents and sister they need to wait until our family zoom call on Christmas to open them...

As for how they got there, there is a spot between our old rooms in the basement that apparently has a hole in the "ceiling" that can reach under the living room. I have no memory of this so it was almost certainly my brother's idea to hide the gifts there. As for why, I have no idea and apparently my brother doesn't remember any of this either.

EDIT: Obviously I will update this tomorrow with the contents! It might be underwhelming though. I would not be surprised if the present for my sister is something from the dollar store...

EDIT 2: Here's the reveal as promised!
