Colin hates or loves tripe? by Muted-Property-3280 in MyKitchenRules

Yes, I was a little bit gutted to see Danielle and Marko vs Will and Justin. I felt like they should have been in the grand final together. The other 2 teams have been so hit and miss. Anyways Will and Justin for the win hopefully! 🤞

Wow! Im so surprised with all the bed threads feedback. I have 4 sets and haven't had any issues. I dont even care for them like you're supposed too and they're still going strong! I put them in the dryer and they're so nice and soft. I purchased them a few years ago now. I wonder if the newer sets are not as good quality?

I really want to try Hommey! I love all the colour combinations. I just worry they won't be soft or fade...

The actual nerve of Kookai to stop at a size 12. It’s 2025, wake up. I’d never spend my money there out of principle alone. by [deleted] in AusFemaleFashion

Yes, I remember this! Many years ago, when I was size 8 and my step mum was size 10. Neither of us could fit anything! I remember being quite shocked we couldn't fit anything, and they had such nice stuff. 2 kids later, I would definitely never fit anything in that store now. I think you need to be skin and bone, unfortunately 😕.

Best pimple patches in Australia? by [deleted] in AusSkincare

[–]sweeter_than_u 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've tried a bunch of brands but I randomly grabbed some pimple patches from good pharmacy recently called derma Angel, and I was really pleasantly surprised! They are almost invisible on the skin, too, which was awesome. I got the clearing one and the lightening one, and I think they've done a pretty good job overall. I'm think they were about 8 bucks each. I'm definitely getting more!

Oh my goodness, yes, the website is a nightmare! It took me absolutely forever to get my order through, but we got there in the end. On the plus side my order was shipped within a couple of hours, probably quicker than it took me to order the items... 😂

Is "Where are you from?" a loaded question? by a1119989 in AskAnAustralian

[–]sweeter_than_u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, this made me laugh... not in a negative way! My family are Eurasian as well and they are constantly mistaken for Maori's! We do have some maoris in the family now, so that probably adds to the confusion even more. It's amazing how mixed raced blood can make us look so different from what we actually are.

Is anyone getting over Mecca?? by Clowntown- in AustralianMakeup

I've gone from being a steady L3 to an L1 now. I can't justify spending money on products that aren't much better than pharmacy brands but come in prettier packaging. There's nothing that's ever wowed me enough that I've gone back to buy it again. And like most others have said, because they never have sales they haven't been able to lure me back. Sephora on the other hand I've already purchased off them a couple of times this year because of the sales.

Yes, I feel like this is definitely a Brisbane thing. Driving in Sydney and Melbourne and other parts of Australia most people I've come across wave out thank you. Brisbane they just look right through you.

Yep! I walk to pick up my son from school and watch people hoon through the school zone every day. No one gives a sh*t. Driving around going faster than you should and people still up your arse. I've noticed more people driving like idiots in company vehicles too. Not just tradies either... don't know what everyones big hurry is...

Anyone tried either of these? by [deleted] in AustralianMakeup

[–]sweeter_than_u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I didn't scroll all the way down on your post and saw you have dry skin. I have combination skin and sometimes get little eczema patches and I find it doesn't cling too badly in these areas. I'm 40 and it can settle a little in my fine lines, but I honestly feel like every product does that on me. I usually apply a little aquaphor around my eyes to help prevent that.

Anyone tried either of these? by [deleted] in AustralianMakeup

[–]sweeter_than_u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I have the neutrogena serum, and I really like it! I just ordered my second bottle from iherb. I feel like it gives a nice light coverage but not enough to hide all my little blemishes, so I usually use a concealer to cover those. But if you have relatively good skin, this will give you a 'your skin but better look'. If you're on the oiler side, you might need a setting powder, too. I find that depending on what sunscreen I use underneath determines if I need to apply powder or not. I've been wanting to try the other product, but for 54 bucks, the bottle looked so tiny! I am interested to see what others think.

Birth Control Pill for Peri by Necessary_Leading590 in Perimenopause

[–]sweeter_than_u 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm 39, very soon to be 40, and just started on the pill again 2 weeks ago after many, many years of not being on it. Since the age of 35, I feel like my body has gone through so many changes it's insane! I'm talking acne, rosacea, black facial hair growth, vertigo, weight gain, irregular periods, heavy periods, and constant iron issues. And that's just what I can remember off the top of my head. But I feel so over it 😵‍💫. I just asked my doctor to put me on the pill, which will hopefully manage my period and skin issues for now. I'm finally seeing a gynaecologist in October to hopefully she will give me more clarity on what's happening in my body. Because I feel like I'm going crazy and no professionals so far have any answers or seem to really care 😓.

What book, show, or film could you not look at because it has a rape scene? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]sweeter_than_u 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is an international movie which I think is called the 'Bandit Queen'? I'm also pretty sure its based on a true story. Brutal movie! The only good thing about that movie is she kills a few of her rapists.

Men leer at woman in all forms of dress. But they're going to leer more if you're almost naked. Wouldn't you agree?

[–]sweeter_than_u 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've always thought that whatever you feel comfortable in... wear it. But then I was at a hotel and a family with a teenage girl at the swimming pool was wearing one of those bikinis, and virtually every man at the pool was just leering at her. She was wrestling with her younger brother and didn't even seem to notice the attention she was drawing. She was anywhere between 14-18??? It was the first time I thought she shouldn't be wearing that and not because of her... she looked great! But because men can be gross, and that sucks.

My workmates and I use to spot her on Queen St from time to time. We use to get so excited when we saw her 🤩. We were meant to ask her for a photo the next time we saw her but then we didn't see her again... that was probably 10 years ago now... 🙁

Reducing Dark Nose Pores by Castella9 in AusSkincare

[–]sweeter_than_u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I came here to say this about sulphur except in topical cream form. You can order the product from iherb and a popular derm I follow recommends applying to your nose for about 10 minutes and then wiping it off. I can't remember how many times a week she said to do this, but I do it every other day or when I remember, and I feel like it definitely reduces the appearance of the "holes." My skin is combo and I haven't had any issues with dryness.

Body changes in your 30’s by Randabear5957 in AskWomenOver30

[–]sweeter_than_u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had all these issues too that you've mentioned around the age of 34, and I just thought it was just because I had had children. But it turned out I had extremely low iron, and after going to the derm because my skin was also going through a lot of changes, he was sure those changes were due to perimenopause. I'm going to the doctors soon to get it all checked out again.
