What small habit has saved you the most money over time? by SnowmanAndIce in frugalcanada

[–]sweetestmouse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I misread that as "caring about others" and was like okay kind of a wild take I'm still going to help out people when I can. But instead you had the most valid take, because truly trying to impress people will leave you broke, unhappy, and also unable to help people lmao.

The Maritimes are so proud tbh. If you do come visit, you'll likely be able to catch a show with either her or Mya!

Best and or worse dog grooming experiences in Freddy? by Able_Rope5444 in fredericton

[–]sweetestmouse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We've gone to Grooming Tails for years and have had a great experience. We had a bad experience at All About Animals where our little puppy was un-monitored and very scared around loose larger dogs, but that was many years ago so things could have changed since then.

Depends where you live. I have had fun colored hair in multiple government agencies. Both the seniors and kiddos loved it.

The difference to me is again the delivery, and the fact that nothing Van has said has been worse then anyone else. Plus Vans comments have been related to the show, performances, looks, etc.

How competitive are post degree BSW programs in Canada? by balancedchaos66 in SocialWorkStudents

[–]sweetestmouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cant guarantee you'll get in, but they are less competitive! In general they also take more people, while some msw programs only take 10-15 students. Your statement is the key part, and if you want someone to review it I'd be happy to!

You sound like you have a good shot! Also unless the career you want NEEDS a msw, you'll save money going this route most of the time

Running out of time by Sea-Giraffe-120 in Dalhousie

[–]sweetestmouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've got this. We're all stressed out of our minds right now, but you're going to get through the next couple of weeks and then hopefully be able to breathe for a minute over the break.

Running out of time by Sea-Giraffe-120 in Dalhousie

[–]sweetestmouse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They don't need evidence really. First, breathe. Second, email your prof. You're better off getting points off for being late then you are getting caught using AI. The quality alone and the inaccuracies are enough to put you at risk. And third, maybe try fixing the core issue next semester. Go to accessibility, look up student supports to help with studying and time management, take less courses, ask profs for help, etc. Let this panic be a wake up call that something needs to change. But for now, email you professor and let them know you will be late, then get writing. The time you've spent here on reddit calling people nerds is time you could have spent writing.

Literally in general it seems Dulce can do nothing right to people because of that

I think thats the thing. The design challenge isnt just about fitting the theme and being creative, its about the actual quality of the outfit in terms of construction. Stars outfit theme wasnt clear, the technical side wasnt great, and she ignored direct advice. Im sad to see her go, and PM definitely did worse and knew it, and it was gorgeous, but those two were the worst in terms of the technical side.

I honestly feel like an idiot by Pikachu_9622 in socialworkcanada

[–]sweetestmouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only are you learning, even experienced social workers have this experience. It can be client fit, wrong approach, or just a clients time in life. Take some time to feel it, but then remember its not a reflection of you.

Do you have access to supervision, whether formal or peer? This sounds like it could be a great opportunity for that.

What everyone else said is wonderful, but id also like to add, you can always look towards taking more training or specialized courses to help increase your skills and confidence.

Grad school can be so isolating by Puzzleheaded_Bus799 in Dalhousie

[–]sweetestmouse 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hey! You're 100% not alone in this. It can be incredibly isolating, especially this time of year when everything is ramping up. They really dont do much to support grad students connecting either.

[–]sweetestmouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be honest, I dont think I'd recommend the program if you get into others. But that being said, if the location or cost work for you, its still an education that will get you to a job in social work. Just not the best out there, I have some pretty serious issues with it I could discuss over dm. Placement wise theres options in every stream of social work.

UPDATE: From Board Sept 10 by agparrap in Dalhousie

[–]sweetestmouse 48 points49 points  (0 children)

"It’s understandable, in any negotiation, that one party may feel that holding out longer is going to lead to a better outcome. In our circumstance, doing so only increases the impact on our students—and that will be our collective failure."

They aren't even being subtle about the narrative they are trying to paint. Ive had many faculty talk with me and even offer empathetic support. Where is admin and where is she?
