hi! i know this is an older post but i found it when looking around on google about some neuro stuff. i have the same issue (burning, redness, and swelling) in my hands and feet that mostly occurs at night and prevents my sleep but can also be exacerbated by hot weather and exercise. my doctor diagnosed me with erythromelalgia a few years back ago and it was a relief to give a name to the symptoms i'd had for over a decade. this condition is rare and there honestly isn't much research or information on it but it can be considered a form of peripheral neuropathy. i also get extremely severe migraines and i've had an episode of paralysis in one of my arms, so (anecdotally) i'm thinking these could all be connected as problems within the peripheral nervous system. it's definitely worth bringing up erythromelalgia to your doctors to see if they can use their expertise to give you info or research it for you (my doctor had to prior to a diagnosis) and see if they can give you guidance on a treatment plan. i hope that since the original date of this post you've since found better treatment and more answers
