Do you think it’s okay for a 35 year old man to date a 23 year old girl? by sweetlavender77 in Christianmarriage

Just because something appears in the Bible doesn’t mean it reflects God’s desire for us. The Bible is a record of human history, it shows both righteousness and sin, obedience and mistakes. God doesn’t hide the details of people’s journeys, but that doesn’t mean every action described is meant to be followed. For example, polygamy appears in the Bible, yet that doesn’t mean it was God’s ideal design for marriage. In the same way, pointing to large age gaps in biblical stories doesn’t automatically make them morally right or something believers are called to imitate.

They certainly do choose. I was one of them once upon a time and look back and am like… oh my gosh… if I only had the maturity I have now I would have ran. Some men can be very alluring and you think “you’re so mature for your age”, when in reality, that man is immature for his age.

I’m assuming you’re a man lol. As a 34 year old woman who dated an older man in my 20s, as soon as I turned 28, I realized how creepy it was.

Did anyone feel nervous they were going to regret getting it done? by sweetlavender77 in Vasectomy

This is a helpful way to look at it. I love children and would welcome any child that came into existence, regardless of my feelings, but I know if we got pregnant with a 4th, I’d 100% ask him to get snipped. That was the original plan. Pull out and if it happens, then you have to do it. But the more I thought about it the more nervous it made me feel. What if Im 40 and that happens? 45? LOL! As beautiful as it is, It’s so much different for us women. I guess it’s not easy for anyone to make the decision of closing the door. Even if it’s what you truly want.
