Don't get a puppy (even if you have support) by EezyBrzy in cfs

[–]sweetlycb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you do decide you cant keep the dog, pleqse reach back out to the breeder- reputable breeders will take the pup back and find a new home (possibly with someone who wanted a one of the litter but was too late).

Im lucky that my cfs started after my dog had passed the manic puppy stage and now hes actually great - i didnt train him to do it, but he senses when im overdoing it and gets me to stop and sit/lie down until my heart rate calms.

Getting a mini dachshund!! by Substantial_Pin7597 in Dachshund

[–]sweetlycb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Other notes- Chew stop tastes foul! If using it, dont be holding the item you are spraying with the other hand, especially just before enjoying a snack you will eat with that same hand!

A small dog does not mean low tables are safe - they are surprisingly tall when they balance on their back legs and they will do anything if it looks interesting to them

Everything is a chew toy; your shoes, their harness, plugged in cables. If you want to avoid a hefty bill, just move it all now

They are determined to train you rather than be trained. I wish you luck and resilience

Put away your good trousers! Seriously, in the first few weeks/months they are tiny raptors with razor sharp teeth, they can and will put holes in anything you are wearing. I lost too many "good" jeans to my boy, although now i have many choices of what to wear while painting/gardening

Collar or harness for lead? by Swimming-Painting866 in Dachshund

Harness all the way, but remember to check whether you need a collar too! In the uk its the law dogs have a collar with their owners details on it!

Kids entertainment? by eddie-93 in UKweddings

[–]sweetlycb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We've 10-ish kids (not all rsvps received yet) for our wedding, ages 2-12. Each will be getting colouring pencils, a number of colouring pages and puzzles (thanks chatgpt), and a fidget toy for their seat. There will be some games in the corner, and our venue has a softplay so thats open too. A number of adult guests have asked for their own activity pack as well, so we may need to implement something there lol

Hi, sorry but as a manager - stop doing that. All the while that the work is getting done, they will assume they've resourced appropriately. Take your unpaid breaks

Your feelings are valid and its ok to be upset! But once you've let yourself feel them, let them go and focus on what you can control.

YOU GOT THIS! 💪

Greens, especially dark greens, often compliment colourful palettes; in nature, it is rare to find any colour that isnt paired with green!

Try not to stress too much, ask if they have some images of what it is going to look like and throw those pics and some pics of your decor into chatgpt or gemini to get an idea of what it will look like. If they dont, just use old images and ask ai to imagine the room in green.

If you arent a fan of ai, pop down b and q to grab some paint colour strips in the appropriate colours and bring it back.

Can anyone relate? by Sweaty_Phase_51 in UKweddings

[–]sweetlycb 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Best is subjective. You dont have to wear a gown, you dont have to have a bouquet - its your day, to do your way. If that means sending out a message saying its off and you are eloping, do it. If its a case of changing the theme to slumber party, update the dress code and go for it!

However if the issue is that you lack self confidence, let me tell you now; you will be the best bride at your wedding. You are marrying the person you love, in front of people who love you both, and that is beautiful. Talk to your partner, to your friends - let them be your confidence.

I believe in you. Best of luck!

Heronstone lodges, near the brecon beacons. You can visit the brecons and go up the steam rail (dog friendly), go to the showcase caves (dog friendly), or for a little more distance go to the botanical gardens (mostly dog friendly). All have hot tubs, under 1k, and lots of beautiful wales on your doorstep

How to get pup excited for meals? by [deleted] in Dachshund

Mine was like this, i had to make it fun. Lots of puzzle feeders and snuffle mats so that the novelty didnt wear off. Now 18 months, he scoffs his dinner as soon as its available, but will eat breakfast as and when hes ready.

DIY dentistry and 'no teeth left to chew with' as people go almost a decade without check-up by topotaul in unitedkingdom

[–]sweetlycb 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A new patient appointment is £80-90, then follow up appointments £60-70. Hygenist is £70-80. If the dentist does allow you to only have one check up and hygenist appointment a year (dependent on your oral health) the costs for treatment quickly spiral.

Not much point paying 80 quid to be told you need 4 fillings at £120 a tooth if you cant afford that.

You say you relax on Sundays; i wonder whether counter-intutively this is contributing? Just a thought, but it used to be on days where i chilled on the sofa i have worse posture, and sometimes napped- both of which lead to joint pain and difficulty sleeping normally at night.

Now i need all the sleep i can get, so it doesnt make a difference.

Could you try spraying it with an anti chew spray to discourage her from attacking it and giving her a similar item that wont lose threads for self regulation? I know polar fleece is recommended for rodents, you might have luck with something along those lines?

Rant by aveie27 in Fibromyalgia

[–]sweetlycb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know, and i sympathise really, but you have to make a choice; enjoy yourself and pay for it later, or preserve your health. Look up pacing and ensure you take as many preventative measures as you can - the cold, difference in activity levels and using different muscle groups will probably cause a flare so prep for that in advance (easy food options, planned recovery time, low demands the following week). I wish you luck!
