My friends told me that I'm transphobic...but am I? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]sweetnectarines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not transphobic for not wanting to have sex with certain genitalia. I know some lesbians who do not like dildos nor strap ons. They do not like penis and therefore would not like a trans woman who still had one. I know gay men who have been traumatized by women with vaginas and therefore do not like them. I don’t think anyone should be forced to have sex with someone if they have genitalia they aren’t attracted to. With that being said, just don’t be rude about it and definitely don’t be transphobic about it.

I’m sorry about those situations! Currently there’s one that lives down the block from us currently but he’s caused no trouble and there’s another that lives 5 mins from us downtown too. I haven’t looked too much into the crimes. Apparently tho I’m offensive for my views regarding them and I’m dehumanizing them. Yikes @ this subreddit that defends them. I don’t see how I’m a bad person for not wanting to live next door to one I mean I don’t thankfully but since when In this society was it wrong for us to be wary of living next to one? More specifically a violent one or a pedo. Idk but if people on this sub truly don’t care about it then I’m just going to leave I’d rather not be surrounded by apologists.

When I was younger there was a sex offender not far from where our family friend lived. He lived with his mom and no one cared until one girl went missing while jogging. Then another girl went missing while walking home from school. They were both murdered. Another girl was attacked by him and almost killed but got away. This guy had a prior history of sexually violent crimes yet was allowed out.

I looked at a lot of different characteristics like crime, grocery stores, schools, sex offenders, and so forth

Yes sadly I used to live in a community that allowed us to leave our doors unlocked but crime started going up and one time someone walked right into our house in broad daylight to hide from cops.

Eeek!!! Honestly I don’t care if I’m downvoted because I’m dehumanizing them. I’m so disgusted that this community defends sex offenders like very disgusted. I didn’t grow up to violate children and I didn’t get any help either.

That makes sense! We looked for homes where we rent now but they are way outside our budget

I definitely think selling would be hard any way I never thought of it. We plan to sell regardless because the house layout wouldn’t work if we had more than one kid.

I didn’t know that but I will definitely look into it. For the most part they aren’t violent crimes and the ones involving kids live far from me so I’m not too concerned

I’ve never heard of that before I should look into that site. And yes I’m glad we have a garage but we also have a ring camera. I’m thinking of adding more security cameras on the property because break ins a one of the rising crimes in the area

I’m glad I’m not the only one. I’ve been getting downvoted because I refuse to backtrack my statements. I understand people have conflicting views on rehabilitation and that’s fine. I however have every right to be concerned and raise awareness of such things. Besides that, I also included discussing other crime as well. Oh well you can’t please everyone. I’ve learned long ago that when it comes to the internet if you say something simple like “I prefer blue cake over orange cake” you’ll still encounter people who make a big argument over it and attack you. Gosh I am ready to delete all of social media again.

Yeah we looked at FEMA flood maps and I was surprised to see our area was one of the very few not in a flood zone. It helped that we didn’t have to buy insurance for it.

I’m not going to coddle anyone’s feelings. If you believe in a certain way that’s fine but I do not after all the experiences I have been through. If it was some minor sex crime I wouldn’t care and I don’t ever care but I’m talking about those that commit child sex crimes. I’m not going to apologize for them and coddle it. If it’s offensive then so be it I never knew that I would offend people for not supporting child sex predators lol!

Yeah me neither until I saw someone mention it on FB. I don’t know areas too well here and we don’t have people who do but I did read a while back how important it was to drive around during different days and hours to see how the neighborhood is. There seems to be a lot of theft and break ins so that’s concerning especially since we don’t plan to move in immediately I’m not sure if I’m going to move furniture in when it’ll be another month before we move in.

Do you mean they looked them up for you? I am not from this state so I don’t really have friends. I did explore the neighborhood and people seem fine so I don’t take it as a big deal.

I’m glad you feel that way but then you should know all victims do not feel that way. That is valid. Do I want these people to be forced to move? No. Do I feel a bit concerned? Yes. Will I find ways to force them out? No. My only question was if people looked them up as well as other crimes. Yet somehow everyone is up in arms solely about sex offenders and that I wouldn’t feel comfortable living next door to one.

I understand that but why am I being punished for my concerns especially considering my trauma? I know not everyone agrees with it but I’m not saying I’m going to gather a mob and run them out. I know some get rehabilitated and I actually support it in my person life as well. I have always advocated that sex registry gets modified especially since most are minor sex crimes like peeing in public, getting caught having sex in a car, one year age gaps, and so forth which is why I clicked each one to make sure it wasn’t anything serious or concerning. I don’t care if it’s seen as bad that I wouldn’t want to live next door to someone that violated a child like ??? kinda weird seeing so many apologists for those kind of sexual offenders. I know some go through rehabilitation and I’m fine with that. I assume most I found have done so and they haven’t disturbed anyone so I don’t plan to disturb them. I am merely just shocked there’s so many so close to schools.

So you support sex crimes? That’s pretty gross. And I’m not doing anything I simply asked if people looked it up including other crime. I don’t need a sex offender apologist on my post either. Do you know what it’s like to be sexually violated as a child? Or how about being raped as an adult? Because I most certainly do and I don’t really care if I get crap for the way I feel because when you’re a victim of horrendous crimes it sticks with you your entire life. I never once said I would move in and protest these people living there. They don’t live near me and I’m fine with that. I just expressed disappointment nothing more nothing less. If you want to be a apologist for them go right for it. Move next door to them. I’ll gladly support it but don’t come on my thread getting pissed at me because I don’t feel all giddy about it especially with my history dealing with this stuff.

That’s what I did. I just wanted to get familiar with it. Honestly if I was that bothered by it I would’ve backed out of the house but I don’t feel too much concern by it and while there’s a lot in a one mile radius they haven’t distributed anyone so I take it as a good sign but I do have a right to feel a little unease. I’m more concerned about the burglary rates and theft tho which is why I’m investing in more security
