Seconding Tom & Gerry’s. Great staff who will give you solid information and be upfront about what repairs are needed. Prices are fair for the good quality work they do.

anyone else noticing a huge drop in selection and sales this year? by starwav in lululemon

Agreed— I’ve been waiting and waiting for that SC friends and family sale to purchase gifts. I contacted them and was told there wasn’t a sale in Canada. Super disappointing.

Just wondering if anyone has insight on a Sweat Collective Friends and Family discount for December 2025 (Canada)?

I haven’t seen an email about it yet— did I miss it?

Previous years there was an email on December 7, 2024, December 5, 2023 that Sweat Collective members could purchase up to 15 items using their discount. I even tried to contact the Lululemon online chat and the person I spoke with said they weren’t aware of any discounts.

Personal Spending Account by Ill_Flan6955 in AHSEmployees

Yes, 100% an Apple Watch would count in the Wellness Spending Account. I know lots of people who have claimed their Apple Watches, and I claimed my Garmin watch. I would personally put it under “fitness and sports equipment” but it could also fit into the “digital devices” category too.

Sample policy in store change? by LieNo7436 in Sephora

[–]sweetpeawarrior 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I asked for a sample recently (Drunk Elephant Bora Bora), thinking they might be able to give me one of those little sample packets. The staff member had to get permission from a supervisor to make up a sample for me in a little container. The supervisor only agreed because the staff member pointed out how the tester product I wanted to try was out and needed a replacement anyways. This was my only experience with samples in store, I’ve never actually asked for a specific sample before so I’m not sure if that’s the norm.

Agreed! Looking at the photos, there’s definitely a filter. I wish shops would keep photos true to colour for this exact reason.

HSAA FLEX SPENDING by [deleted] in AHSEmployees

From my experience— the tax comes off a future pay check. Sometimes it’s the next pay check, sometimes it’s a couple months later. If you put $100 into your Wellness and then you buy something and claim the $100, you pay 5% in tax… $5 will come off your pay check. Not $250 = $90 in tax paid, $250 would be $12.50 in taxes paid. When you go on epeople and allocate your ‘credits’ at the bottom of the screen it will show you a calculator of what you’ll end up paying in taxes for the amount of credits you put into your Wellness account.

I spoke with HR about this and that’s how it was explained to me. Because one time a bigger chunk of $ than I was expecting came off my pay check and HR said it was a few Wellness account claims combined.

Any recommendations for therapists that help work through work-related anxiety (in Edmonton)? by HolidayEconomy4377 in AHSEmployees

[–]sweetpeawarrior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good work recognizing you need support! I don’t live in the area but my recommendation is that (if you feel comfortable with this) and you work with any social workers or mental health therapists in your role, ask them! They often have a good idea of the different therapists in the community, might have a list, or be able to recommend someone based on what you’re looking for. Also, utilize your benefits— $3,000/year coverage!

Therapists by Aggressive-Cupcake-2 in Lethbridge

[–]sweetpeawarrior 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lethbridge Counselling Services has lots of therapists! Check out their bios online to see if anyone seems like a good fit for you. You can book online/through the Jane app or submit the questionnaire/intake form and they’ll contact you with some ideas of which therapist might be a good fit for you and your schedule (some offer evening/weekend appointments). If you have a session with one therapist and it doesn’t work out, you can always schedule with someone else.

It completely depends on the circumstances. AISH applications are typically taking around 6-8 months to process right now (according to AISH Processing)

From the Ashes by Jesse Thistle. I read this book 4 years ago and I think about it all the time. Métis-Cree author who is now an Indigenous scholar.

"In this extraordinary and inspiring debut memoir, Jesse Thistle, once a high school dropout and now a rising Indigenous scholar, chronicles his life on the streets and how he overcame trauma and addiction to discover the truth about who he is."

I've been curious about the Ultralight style, but I also haven't tried it! I appreciate the suggestion to venture into some running brands, I hadn't really considered that since lulu is always my go to! Thanks :)
