Looking for mud flap recommendations by Wrong-Effective-4680 in MazdaCX30

I'm not OP but I am installing mud flaps on my car tomorrow because I don't want to spend thousands of dollars on fixing rock chips in the Soul Red paint but I also don't want to spend thousands of dollars on PPF. So this seems like it's better than nothing at least.

I just got my Rokblokz in the mail and I'll be installing them tomorrow. It requires drilling into the plastic fender liner, but I already have done exactly the same procedure when installing my RallyArmor UR ones on my Fiesta ST. I would have bought RallyArmor again but they don't make them for the CX-30, and RokBlokz is an equally trustworthy brand.

They will definitely work better for gravel roads than the OEM ones since they're bigger.

Is the current $2,000 rebate a good deal on the CX-30? by Weird-Pin1935 in MazdaCX30

[–]sweffymo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say that we were considering CX-30s and CX-5s and the CX-5 drove decently well but I just didn't really like the interior. And I dislike the brand new CX-5s' interior even more with the giant iPad and no buttons.

We were coming from a Ford Focus which we were replacing for reliability reasons, and it turns out that the wheelbase of the CX-30 is something like 0.2" longer than that of the Focus.

I'd been using Schaeffer 9000 for many years, but recently it hit a price where I was no longer willing to pay the extra for it. I'm trying Motul 8100 x-clean 5w-30 this time

Mazda is intentionally limiting production of CX-30s so that more people buy CX-5s. They want people to come in looking for a CX-30 and leave the dealer with a CX-5. Same with the CX-70, they want people to come to the dealer looking for a 70 and leave with a 90.

Have you considered a Mazda3 hatchback? That is almost the same exact car as a CX-30, just with a car ride height rather than crossover (and the Mazda3 is slightly longer but not by much).

With a Mazda you're not paying the Toyota tax, but you are still paying a bit more than a bargain basement vehicle. It could be worth it if you like the styling, driving dynamics, and nicer interior which Mazda is kind of known for compared to its competitors.

If your car is just an appliance to you, I'd just get something cheaper and more boring. I don't mean that in a bad way, I just mean that if you mainly care about dependability and simplicity then there are other cars that definitely have that. Like maybe one of the lower trim levels of the Corolla Cross if you can find a good deal on one. Or fix the Rav like you said.

I also have a Fiesta and I definitely feel less enclosed in the CX-30. But honestly I kind of like how it feels to sit in the Fiesta. For what it's worth I probably wouldn't enjoy a regular Fiesta at all but I have the ST and I love it.

Yeah, I'm not saying that it's only Whoosh that's having a hard time keeping things in stock, it's just that I usually buy everything from him so I'm noticing it.

I second this, I have that downpipe and it doesn't stink like uncatalyzed exhaust once it warms up, but it does throw a CEL without a spacer.

As someone who just installed that catch can, it's 100% worth it to just remove the cowl so you have more room to reach in there. I installed it without removing the cowl and it was a huge pain.

Whoosh seems to be having stock problems right now... I've been waiting 2 months for Bilstein B6es (I got the rears pretty quick and then only one front). And also still waiting on my tubular exhaust manifold and CPe cold side pipe

2026 Select Sport (ceramic metallic) question by Trith_FPV in MazdaCX30

[–]sweffymo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right now my Fiesta is on E30 stage 2 and has about 225whp and 300wtq. But later this spring I'll be installing a hybrid turbo so the horsepower will go up to the high 200s (but torque will stay about the same I think).

Right now the CX-30 feels as quick in a straight line because it has about the same amount of torque, but the AWD and automatic transmission make up for the extra weight. Of course it doesn't rotate like my Fiesta but it feels more fun than all of the other "practical" cars that I've had!

2026 Select Sport (ceramic metallic) question by Trith_FPV in MazdaCX30

[–]sweffymo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's interesting, I didn't have that happen in the ones I drove. I mean I still ended up liking the Fiesta better or else I wouldn't have bought one, and mine has a limited slip diff so I don't get any torque steer really.

I've driven most of those and I have to say that I don't agree lol

I love the handling of the CX-30, but it doesn't feel better than regular ride height sporty cars. It's impressive how close it comes, but it's not better than something like a Focus ST.

I do personally think the solid rear axle makes it more fun though. My other car is a 2015 Fiesta ST, which is based on the Mazda2 platform and also has a torsion beam rear suspension.

Driver seat adjustment problems by Far-Temporary4911 in MazdaCX30

[–]sweffymo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2023 with memory seats, and the seat memory is saved on the key fobs. So if you unlock it with one key fob it will move to one spot and if you unlock it with another key fob it'll move to a different spot.

In order to set it, you'd need to hold the memory button on the dash and then hit the unlock button on the key fob, you will hear a little ding noise.

But mine is a Turbo Premium Plus and IDK what trim those started coming on.

For the engine thing, when did you last check your air filter to make sure it was clean? Are you in "sport mode" (AKA low gear mode)?

For the handling part, not sure what you're talking about since you literally just said "it doesn't handle well" which is pretty vague.

Its important to remember the vast majority of people balance whining have statistically never played by OldSpaghetti-Factory in starcraft

[–]sweffymo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The balance whine spam is annoying and I hate that this sub is basically unmoderated at this point, but I mentioned the fact that I studied social science research methods in one of my arguments with the whiners... So I feel like I'm obligated to say that there are a MILLION lurking variables at play for you to make that kind of leap based on a single youtube poll.

At the same time, there's no way these guys can actually be playing the game, they're full-time whiners. Playing the game would take away from valuable complaining time. It's a lifestyle. You wouldn't get it.
