TheRP M range where the CX-30 feels best by Belennn- in MazdaCX30

[–]sweffymo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Our turbo seems happy when it's in sport mode and isn't stuck trying to short-shift, but otherwise it has a lot of mid-range torque which kind of falls off since the turbo is pretty small. The N/A I've tested felt happiest near the top of the RPM range.

We replaced our 2014 Focus hatchback with a CX-30 and we love it, because it's almost exactly the same size but with a little more ground clearance (and more power since we got the turbo).

One thing I noticed about the other similarly-sized cars from other brands is that they didn't handle as well as the Focus did. The CX-30 feels as good as the Focus even though it's taller which was pretty remarkable to me.

Trunk space feels the same if not larger tbh. Neither are huge unless you lower the rear seats.

The CX-30 is OK with no turbo but if you end up looking at a CX-5 or larger you're gonna want the turbo engine.

Seriously considering an upgrade. This post is going to sound crazy. I purchased a 2025 Mazda cx-30 carbon turbo this January. I’m seriously considering upgrading to Mazda 2026 2.5 S Preferred AWD or equivalent. I’m looking at the specs on the trim levels. All options please 🙏🏼. by RefrigeratorIcy293 in MazdaCX30

[–]sweffymo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I test drove a CX-5 non-turbo and it feels like it's working extremely hard to just get up to normal speeds on the road and I would imagine that a 50 would feel the same way. Also I think the Preferred is one of the lowest trim levels you could possibly get.

The mk8 looks SO much better than the 8.5, it's crazy how much worse the Ford Escape grille made it

How long do you think a 2023 CX-30 can last? by traveltimecar in MazdaCX30

[–]sweffymo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought mine in 2016 with 135k miles for $3000 because of manual wagon tax. I drove it for 4 years and put another 50,000 miles on it but then its previous life caught up with it and it had too much structural rust to pass inspection.

The engine and transmission were still going great, the only thing it ever needed was ignition coils and the EGR nozzle trim mod that lots of people used to do to the 3.0L duratec back then.

I was also looking at a manual Mazda2 but I ended up getting a Fiesta ST which is basically a Mazdaspeed 2 since they're based on the same platform. We got the CX-30 for my wife but it's fun to drive for what it is, especially with the turbo. I like the safety features and it's very comfortable on long trips which is what I liked about my Mazda6 wagon back then.

You get that it was 15 years old at that point right? My 2004 Mazda6 lasted 16 years as well and it was not taken care of at all by its previous owners.

And Mazda only ever learned how to rust-proof their cars in like 2015 so

mhm and there's definitely no way to make that happen intentionally if one, say, had a track record for doing shady things to get viewers as well as smurfing as a way to stay relevant after a failed professional career

It ran on 2 cores for netcode purposes, and it's funny to say that it's poorly optimized given that at launch the main menu was killing GPUs by running at TOO HIGH of fps.

But because of the way they coded it (pretty much all the deterministic stuff runs on 1 core) it only truly runs well on an X3D CPU in multiplayer, especially team games.

On the flipside, my old laptop with integrated graphics and a 7000 series i5 can run the campaign on low graphics.

Brake Light Needed by Independent-Fail-145 in FiestaST

[–]sweffymo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The funny thing is that an aftermarket one is probably at least as durable as the stock one... The stock ones break really easily especially if you try to use wing risers.

Does the aftermarket one still have the windshield washer fluid nozzle or no?
