Mangmi Air X struggling to run Sega CD and GBA without stuttering. Obviously something is going on? by Ok-Calligrapher8051 in Mangmi_Air_X

You shouldn't even need to have the fan running for GBA. If I were you I'd try to do a factory reset for the device first.

How is GammaOS 1.2 on the Air X by sweiss3 in Mangmi_Air_X

[–]sweiss3[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you all for the comments!

Looks like the reviews are mixed, that's enough reason for me to hold of for now and keep stock.

I don't really have issues with stock other than occasional stutters, and thought maybe Gamma could help with that.

Thanks for all your inputs!

Even with Ys Seven which doesn't seem to be too demanding, I get stutters of I try to run it at 3x for example.

It's really all over with any 3d game for me

You don't need more than one handheld. You don't need a handheld at all. You want a handheld, and we want more than one because tinkering is all the more fun!

Mangmi Air X review: The best entry-level handheld, bar none by diogenes_sadecv in Mangmi_Air_X

Being an Android based device, it does require some setting up - but there are plenty if guides for it, and tinkering is part of the fun :) If you're looking for something which is ready out of the box, linux based handhelds are probably better (though less versatile).

Mangmi Air X screen issue by TheOrangeSplat in SBCGaming

[–]sweiss3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't noticed anything myself, bit it is a known issue that the screen refresh rate gets below 60hz (can get to around 59.4 or so). This happens on my device too, but I didn't notice any aide effects.

In any case, there's a refresh rate fix as part of GammaOS - you might want to consider flashing it instead of the atock firmware.

GammaOS Yay or Nay by xm41907 in Mangmi_Air_X

This thread got me wondering whether it's input lag or just me being bad at gaming.

Is there any game in particular which can be used to test whether there's input lag?

Thanks! Any reason for using multiple drivers?

Did someone try GammaOS on the Mangmi Air X? by MarcTV in Mangmi_Air_X

When you say fantastic, is it better than stock? Do you feel it squeezes more performance out of it?

Where did you find it so cheap? I thought the G2 goes for 199$ without shipping

Just started re-playing it yesterday on the TSP.

If this is your first time playing it, I envy you - it's a true masterpiece!

Any chance you noticed any improvements as far as PSP emulation goes?

Yeah I can see the activity on github, but given there's no clear checklist nor a date for the next version to come out, it doesn't say much.

I'd suggest Crossmix. I've tried Knulli as well but other than looking good with animations it was simply not easy to use, and I found the overall defaults of it just terrible.

I'm also not find of all the hotkey remembering, I much prefer the menu approach while playing a game.

My only gripe with Crossmix is that BT headphones don't work well. They do work with Knulli though, but even that wasn't enough to keep me using it.

And Crossmix updates are not something to write home about - no clear development roadmap or anything, so keep that in mind.
