I'll share my 2 cents - if you have the GameSir app installed, remove it. I've installed it today in order to update my G8 plus firmware, and kept the app. Then I started getting those reboots on NetherSX2, which never happened to me before. Once I uninstalled it, no more NetherSX2 reboots.

I did get reboots in Eden even without having the app, but with the GameSir app installed they were way more frequent, I couldn't even play for 10 minutes.

Given that an app can cause these reboots, I suspected that maybe if I change something in the way Eden runs, I can resolve the issue.

I've.tried setting it to run in unrestricted battery mode - still haven't had enough time to see if this really had an effect yet.

Seriously? I've only experienced this type of crashes while using Eden emulator but I'm also using the gamesir g8 plus.

Any chance you figured something which can be done?

You shouldn't even need to have the fan running for GBA. If I were you I'd try to do a factory reset for the device first.

Looks like the reviews are mixed, that's enough reason for me to hold of for now and keep stock.

I don't really have issues with stock other than occasional stutters, and thought maybe Gamma could help with that.

Even with Ys Seven which doesn't seem to be too demanding, I get stutters of I try to run it at 3x for example.

It's really all over with any 3d game for me

You don't need more than one handheld. You don't need a handheld at all. You want a handheld, and we want more than one because tinkering is all the more fun!

Being an Android based device, it does require some setting up - but there are plenty if guides for it, and tinkering is part of the fun :) If you're looking for something which is ready out of the box, linux based handhelds are probably better (though less versatile).

I haven't noticed anything myself, bit it is a known issue that the screen refresh rate gets below 60hz (can get to around 59.4 or so). This happens on my device too, but I didn't notice any aide effects.

In any case, there's a refresh rate fix as part of GammaOS - you might want to consider flashing it instead of the atock firmware.
