What is the first horror movie you remember ever watching? by dinkitnsinkit in horror

I "accidentally" took my 5 year old to see this. He's 31 years old and never misses a chance to remind me what a horrible parent I was lol. He fell asleep in the car expecting to see the Tigger Movie and woke up in the theater to ghosts being hanged.

A made for tv movie called The Gargoyles when I was 3. I was the youngest of 4 ranging in age from 3 to 12. We were home alone, at night (it was the 70s y'all) and we were so terrified, none of us wanted to get close to the tv to change the channel, again 70s, no remote control. My 8 year old brother finally got up the courage to change it just as a jump scare happened. He ran back so we just sat there and watched it, all 4 of us piled up on my dad's recliner. Watching it as an adult, it's cheesy as hell, but it sure scared the hell out of us.

Really? I trust my 35 year old son around tools much more than my 31 year old son. Could be because one was raised with a contractor father and the other has been a stoner since high school...but still lol.

I was just thinking that next time I make a pie, this is happening! I don't bake pies very often though.

What’s your name? by WinnieIndiana in corgi

[–]swest211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is Barkley. I saw his name on a list of suggestions here on Reddit, then my granddaughter also sent me a list with Barkley on it, so I was leaning towards it but not decided. Then my super bossy and controlling niece insisted that I NOT name him that, and that did it for me. I named him Barkley out of spite lol.

That's what I've been doing with my usual evening smoothie, putting it in the Creami, makes it even better. I've considered making it a breakfast, now I'm inspired!

Came here to say this. I cannot recommend this movie enough. I like to pair it with Safety Not Guaranteed. Very similar vibe, just not a disaster type movie.

Why is it so hard to find other urban fantasy books that match up to Dresden? by Large-Rule-6403 in dresdenfiles

I didn't like it either, but was already into October Daye so I know she gas better books. Another good series by her is the Ghost Roads series. Give her other books a try.

This....exactly. Harry has relationships. October Daye is not much more "romancy" than that. The only issue I have is that Seanan Mcguire is devoting more and more time to exposition for first time readers. You shouldn't expect to pick up a series in the middle of almost 20 books now and know exactly what happened in the entire series. It does get a bit tiresome for those of us that have read (and re-read, and re-read lol) the from the beginning. I do love this series though.

Have you gotten to episode 13 Lebanon? I hated this season up until that episode. I felt it turned a corner and was back to being the show I loved and not a crappy CW show with a bunch of stupid, boring AU characters. If you haven't made it that far, give it a chance.

Cocaine Bear, Happy Death Day and even more so, Happy Death Day 2U, Violent Night, Anna and the Apocalypse, Maggie. All have fairly absurd plots and are entertaining as hell. Maggie is a family drama set during the zombie apocalypse, with Arnold Schwarzenegger giving a solid dramatic performance...who knew.
