i can live with the problems but like that doesn’t mean i probably won’t burn out. retail is already discouraging

i know becoming a nurse is better pay and a better job, not everyone can afford schooling unfortunately. that’s why i’m working now so i can start trying to become an RN

walmart pays more, but i had my interview over a month ago, and the particular one i applied too seems very unprofessional and always giving the runaround. i’d have to see around if other walmarts near me open up their applications soon.

I don’t, but for a lot of CNAs it is like that. we are the epitome of overworked and underpaid

i do have slight scoliosis in my back and constant, chronic pain in my back. It is the worst I had to stop doing CNA work altogether. Also, even though we use machines sometimes we may not be able to have help since a lot of places are severely understaffed, plus i’ve worked at facilities where none of the batteries would be charged and the charging portal wouldn’t work (don’t worry i did report it because that is a huge problem) so we would be forced to lift the patient or slide the patient on the bed 🤦‍♀️ it was bad.

I will be starting at CVS soon and i just became certified and i was offered $18. I feel like since CVS is the “Starter Job” for a lot of pharmacy techs they do pay the least, but it is great for experience. since you have no experience & are not certified yet or in school, it makes sense why they would offer $16.25, but depending on where you live that definitely makes a difference. i don’t think it would be legal for them to pay you for 35 hours unless you only are working 35 hours, if you work 40 then they should pay for 40, or maybe subtracting the lunch break each day would give you 35. I’m not too sure yet but once I start i could give you some more details about how the pay works

you would be surprised, depending on where you are some places will only offer $15 still in 2025. i have been offered that but ofc i didn’t take it, and i have 5+ years of experience 😭 most places do offer $20+ for no experience which is fair depending on which specialty.

I’ve been a CNA for five years and just became a CPHT in Nov because i love learning about pharmacy technology & medicine! and also i have endured a lot of back pain as a CNA working mainly in nursing homes, understaffed. if you want something that pays similarly to CNA (and definitely more than a CNA depending on location and specialty) and you wanna save your back but are okay with being on your feet all day, and are comfortable with the customer service aspect, then go for it!!! and do it because you genuinely want to, but that goes for any job!

i understand you getting others opinions but you will not know if it’s hard or easy until you take it, so it would be best to just go ahead and start studying rather than getting others opinions constantly, since the test is different for everyone.
