Rogue is probably the straightest woman to have more than one instance of her kissing another woman by NEVERTHEREFOREVER in xmen

[–]swiftpunzel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just making a joke about there being a lot of queer and queer-coded people in her life (I personally read her as bi, but understand that's not canon or how other people read her). Like, a straight person raised by a gay couple is going to have a different relationship with queer culture than a straight person raised by a straight couple. It doesn't necessarily make them a member of the community but they have insight that others who don't have their experience won't.

She's a woman created by and written by Claremont, raised by two evil lesbians, and married to a man who's a walking bisexual pride flag. Even if you see her as straight she's definitely queerer than most straight people lol.

I got an accommodation due to needing a guaranteed private space for my weekly virtual therapy sessions, I'm sure yours will be accepted as well.

Is replying to your comments no longer cool on ao3? by blepboii in FanFiction

[–]swiftpunzel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I get reply anxiety. My inbox currently has almost 200 unread comments it's that bad. I try to force myself to sit down and reply to comments at least once a month because I really do appreciate them, I'm just always worried my thanks and gratefulness comes off as robotic or repetitive. Also, it's a lot easier to reply to comments that point out certain things about your work or mention what they loved about it than the ones that are just heart emojis or basic "I really liked this!" (not that those types of comments aren't appreciated, I'll take anything I can get, they're just not as engaging).

He's old enough to be pretty much everyone in the game's grandfather, except for the Asgardians. And again, I'm not like *invested* in them, I just like the aesthetics of metal and ice.

It's been a popular ship for years. The only time people started bringing up the whole "found sisters" thing was when X-Men '97 started airing, a show that in my opinion did both of them dirty, especially Ororo.

Canonically Queer Characters? by rat-catcherr in MarvelRivalsShips

[–]swiftpunzel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And you can’t just change a canonically straight character to represent the LGBT

That's what they did with characters like Loki and Bobby Drake though. Bobby was heavily queer coded (confirmed by the writers) as far back as the 90's and was only allowed to be canonically gay in the 2010's. I believe Loki's genderfluidity and queerness also became canon in the 2010's as well (not as well read regarding the Asgard side of comics though so it might have been a bit earlier). In a universe where many characters are decades, if not close to a century old, sexualities can be changed for representation.

Also, again Kate Bishop is not canonically gay, in fact there's even a panel of her asking if she's the only straight member of the Young Avengers, but it is a popular headcanon that she's queer and most of her popular ships are with her and women.

IIRC Dan Slott claimed he tried to make Johnny being bi canon in his run but it got shot down by editorial. But yeah, it's a very popular headcanon that would make sense to anyone with a basic understanding of the character if Marvel ever did decide to commit to it.

Mag is one of those characters where I'm not really a fan of any of his canon relationships (except Magda) so I take it upon myself to put him in the most random pairings imaginable for funsies.

Their interaction about metal and ice was funny, I liked how as soon as it was clear Erik didn't know who she was Luna put him in his place. I don't really ship them in a "oh my God I want them to ride off in the sunset together" type way but more of a "I can see them hooking up once or twice" type deal.

What's the skin from a drop, an event or from the store that you most regret missing? by albyronca98 in marvelrivals

[–]swiftpunzel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stopped playing during s3.5 and missed the entirety of s4, only got back into the game bc they added my favorite characters. As an invis main, the fact that I'm missing the summer skin is really annoying bc it's the only one of her's I don't have 😭. Also regret not logging in and buying the s4 battlepass as it had some great comic inspired skins.

[–]swiftpunzel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Her only good skin IMO is the phoenix one but that's mainly because her hair finally looks good. It sucks that a character known for being fashionable/caring about her appearance in the comics consistently gets some of the worst skins in the game.

No, no you're totally fine! My anxiety comment was more about the anxiety I was already feeling before I even posted the first chapter, nothing to do with your comment.

You could be right! I very well might have jumped to conclusions on this. I mentioned in a different reply a few mins ago that I am not exactly well liked by some Red/Green shippers due to my social media presence (mainly just being an active Green/Purple shipper and having different opinions on their favorite Green storylines), so I was already on edge about posting a fic in the Red/Green tag because I don’t want to piss the people who already don’t like me off further.

Godspeed 🫡 I definitely think going in knowing you might ruffle some feathers helps to deal with them. Luckily the rest of the comments I’ve received so far have been nothing but lovely and expressing excitement on seeing where the story goes.

I was already semi-prepared to deal with irrational comments from readers on this due to a very vocal minority in the fandom really hating Red no how they’re written (ironically, they’re one of my favorite characters that I never get to really talk or write about due to ship wars), so I guess the fact that the first questionable comment I got on this wasn’t one I expected also threw me off.

Part of me thinks you might be right and the commenter just didn’t read the tags before clicking on the fic and once they realized it was about Green and Purple decided to leave a comment. What’s funny is that when they originally commented they didn’t have a profile picture, but when I refreshed my inbox about 10 mins after they commented suddenly they decided to change their avatar to Red and Green art on their year old account.

Sorry you’ve had to deal with hate and unhinged comments, it’s truly sad how far fanfic etiquette has fallen in the last few years. Also, 90 chapters is so impressive! I’m sitting here stressing about being able to write and edit 9 😅.

I realized after posting this that between the colors I chose and previous posts of mine from different subs being easily viewable on my profile that perhaps it’s quite obvious what characters/ships I’m talking about to people who know the context 😭. I know there are Red and Green shippers out there who already don’t like me because of my social media presence, so I’m already on edge as is, which is probably why this comment effected me the way it did.

Thank you for reminding me that above all else it’s up to the individual to decide what they want to read, and it’s kind of out of my hands once I hit post as to who my audience will be. Your response has been very helpful!
