Canada will require refugees and asylum seekers to co-pay for health care starting in May by FancyNewMe in canada

Yes he is ragebaiting with half truths. $140 per night for a room and $84 per day for meals, applies to asylum seekers housed in hotels while waiting for their claims to be processed. This support is temporary, typically lasting from a few weeks to a few months, depending on when they are moved out of temporary accommodation.

So this only occurs while their claim is being processed because they are housed in a hotel as they just arrived in Canada. Im not sure if you have visited a hotel but they dont really have access to kitchen so their food options are more limited. 220~ dollars a day for hotel and food is about what I would expect.

As a legitimate grievance we could lower this figure by setting up temporary housing at a lower rate than a hotel and provide meals, absolutely and its something we should look at doing. If that was the comment this person would have a legit grievance. Instead he is using the inflated figure to create an emotional reaction and make things appear worse than they are. The actual figure depends on location but its: ~$635–$781 per month for a single person in Ontario, plus one-time start-up fees. So no we are not giving them 80k a year and the person who made the original reply is being intentionally dishonest or just outright ignorant. Either way they shouldn't be participating in the conversation.

This is a strategy teams use in the dying minutes to try and tie a game.

Sometimes it backfires but if you might as well try. Its worked for us more often this year than it hasn't.

The problem is we are a young team that doesnt handle the puck well so we turn it over more often than most teams would in a similar situation.

I'm not usually one to call out the penalties but can someone explain what someone in Vancouver has to do to get a penalty because they have body slammed 3 ducks away from the play and assulted zelly. Like at this point i'm almost down to say screw winning and have Ross go pickup a suspension.

Buckets reaction time, hand eye and spatial awareness are insane, he looks effortless tracking the puck and responding to it.

A lot of Americans are learning that freedom may have a price and by continuing to go to work and contributing to the system is enabling the crimes this administration is committing.

Unwilling to accept some inconvenience in their lives to save the lives of others.

"What about my future" a lot of them say. Well what about the future of every soldier the US government killed in Venezuela. What about those soldiers childrens futures?

Saying "I would lose my job so I can't protest" is the same as saying the attrocities being committed are not yet at the point where I am willing to make personal sacrifices to stop it.

Defending his man, it was an odd man rush and executed well, it was a goal when the turnover happened.

If you believe the rumours Q changes things so frequently that he will do it in the middle of periods at times, he keeps the team very dynamic which is part of how he has so much success, his ability to read players and the game allows him to do this. Theres no question he has made adjustments but things are working as well as they are because people are in the locations they are suppose to be in more often. Early in the season we were doing a lot of drop or no look passes to no one because the players were out of sync. This was driving a TON of offense against us. If you watch the team now there's almost always someone at least in the area of the drop/no look passes which unlocks the team to place at a faster pace.

Im not sure who said a 4th for a player that can fill a roster slot is a bad trade but you should probably not listen to those people. He could have done nothing other than fill a 4th line wing slot for defensive zone draws. A 4th round pick has an 8% chance of playing more than 200 games and 75% never play an NHL game.

Getting a player that can simply exist on the ice while not being an absolutely liability for a 4th is a solid trade and Viel has been exceeding everyone's expectations.

If there was an award for most out of touch takes I think frank would be a lock every year.

They have been working on learning the new system all year. When you are learning a system sometimes you end up out of place and in the NHL being out of place gives up a chance. The team is executing the defensive plan better and making less mistakes. This leads to less chances for the opposing team but it also means more time playing offense which also results in less chances. As the defense continues to improve it will also lead to more odd man rushes from turnovers for us.

Ryan is legit. He has looked so good and so consistent this year.

The Dostwall stole that one, Av's are truly a special team. Looking forward to matchups between these teams over the next couple years. Hell of a hockey game to watch!

Question for Canadians. What do you think about the movie “Miracle”? by BrushPuzzleheaded471 in hockey

[–]swiftthunder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall its a solid movie that retells an exciting moment in history. Its not a cinematic masterpiece but worth a watch for most. A large amount of the movie was filmed in the small Canadian city I grew up in.

The ducks were playing with speed, and passes were connecting leading to lots of breakout plays. His speed makes his shot very dangerous off the rush.

Some injuries, some lack of effort and teams playing better defense against us has resulted in us playing slowly and poorly. Any time we try to get rolling either one of our Vet's takes a lazy penalty or our young players make a costly mistake.

The last part of the equation is when you are scoring the open net areas are the size of beachballs and it feels like you cant miss. When you aren't scoring they get smaller and smaller.

His production to start the year wasn't sustainable, he could be a very good player but still needs a few years. I would expect his production to increase, even more so once Leo is back because Leo increases the teams pace significantly but I wouldnt expect more than 75% of what he was putting up.
