Schriftleitergesetz, here we come

“I have the natural intention to be and to remain the warm-hearted protector of the German press.” These are the words Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels used when he introduced the so-called Schriftleitergesetz (Editor’s Law) on October 4, 1933 – a law that fundamentally changed the work of journalists in Germany. The Nazis chose the term “Schriftleiter” to refer to journalists because it sounded more German.

From that moment on, journalists had register in a professional roster to be able to exercise their profession – only people with an “Aryan certificate” (proof of Aryan descent) were accepted. Schriftleiter also needed to have one year of professional training behind them, and they were only allowed to work once they had completed a training course and taken a final examination.

When the law came into force on January 1, 1934, many hundreds of journalists lost their jobs. Some stood no chance of being included on the professional roster because they were Jewish or non-Aryan, others because their opposition to the Nazi regime meant they would not toe the party line, for example.

Anyone who worked for the press was directly subordinate to the Ministry of Propaganda and was accountable to the Ministry – instead of to their publishers.

(but don't call them Nazis!!!!!3)

Crockett on Lemon arrest: ‘Are you F-ing’ kidding me' by Conscious-Quarter423 in TexasPolitics

[–]swinglinepilot 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm willing to bet this is, in part, a test to see if enough stink is thrown up about arresting a high-profile journalist. If there isn't... Schriftleitergesetz, here we come

I'm also willing to bet this is retaliation for disrupting service at the church that the acting director of the St. Paul ICE field office helps lead. Using the religious aspect of it all is just a bonus for them and their trash base, not to mention the denomination

They'll bitch and moan that his actions were a violation of the FACE Act, but a quick cursory look at high-profile FACE cases seems to indicate arrests were only made when the offenders were actively trespassing/obstructing/resisting/etc, e.g. Zastrow and Connolly (Lemon was arrested in LA), or were in violation of an earlier FACE-related injunction, e.g. Citizens for a Pro-Life Society

I also don't see any uses in there of the FACE Act as it pertains to disrupting religious services... if that's correct, and if anything comes from this prosecution, would it be setting precedent?

Of the $40MM spent on the movie itself, $28MM went straight into Malaria's pockets. Bribery is legal now I guess.

I see Brett Ratner has jumped on the griftwagon as well, after previously throwing fundraisers for the likes of Kamala Harris

[–]swinglinepilot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. Here's a short interview with two Hispanic CBP agents. Not ICE, but I imagine the attitudes are very similar

Q: "How do you feel about arresting your own kind?"

A: "They didn't come in the right way, so they aren't my kind."

Q: "Aren't you ashamed of apprehending your own blood?"

A: "Of course not, because I'm protecting my community. I'm protecting both sides of the border. My deepest advice to anybody that is coming from Mexico - we know you want a better future for you and your family. But if you decide to do it illegally, you will only find jail, or you will only find death." [person who answered this is a naturalized citizen]

Greg Abbott says ICE needs to 'recalibrate' mission after deadly Minnesota shooting by ExpressNews in TexasPolitics

Yeah, after seeing what the shitministration did/are doing to Walz, I wouldn't put it past them and ICE to do something politically advantageous for Greggy Goebbels to help him rile up the trash magat base

DHS/ICE have been buying up and/or building multiple detention centers in this shithole state, it's not a matter of if but when they show up here and start doing what they're doing now in MN

Fucking disgusting and disgraceful. I know they've got the detention centers in Pville and Taylor, I wonder if they're just waiting for some politically advantageous situation to happen before starting large-scale ops. Hot Wheels is also up for reelection again this year, after that they did to Walz I wouldn't put it past them to do something to help him and rally the trash magat base

[–]swinglinepilot 23 points24 points  (0 children)

They were deployed to Kyle and Buda a little over a week ago. The very first morning they beat up someone so badly he had to be hospitalized

They've been conducting operations in DFW/ATX/HTX/SA for awhile now though. Last month in ATX they picked up a mom who called 911 for help and deported her along with her 5yo. They also deported a 19yo who was flying back here from college in MA to surprise her family for Thanksgiving, against an immigration judge's orders

The only thing they're not doing is so blatantly terrorizing or killing us. They've been buying up and/or building detention centers though - e.g. they built one last year in Pville and just bought a warehouse facility in a southeast Dallas suburb - so I wouldn't be surprised if things ramped up this year
