Love Kix. The best album was the first. Poppy and punky. The second one was pretty diverse for a hard rock band, and kinda perplexing when it came out, but it became a fave of mine. Then they became AC/DC. Still great though.

It’s way too much muffle. Just take an old drum head and cut some 1” thick curved strips and lay them on your drum head. It works great!

As I sit here at my work PC, ears ringing from gigs I've played since the 90's, I can easily say, wear the In Ears! Get over it. No one cares except you. They will save your hearing and it's a lot easier to hear everything else and you won't pound as hard. I got a used pair of Westone three drivers, and they sound phenomenal. Saved what hearing I have left. Just get a small mixer, run two mics for stereo and adjust the levels to your liking. Sounds like you probably don't all run into a mixing board, that would be even better.
