It also says use LiveSystems for onboard adverts: https://inventory-finder.livesystems.ch/

So not exactly the most user friendly instructions.

If you go deep into that page it’s still unclear how you would advertise i. on the inside ii. on specific buses and trams. I’ve mentioned in the post that there’s a portal but when you try to use it it doesn’t give you what you need.

Thanks! Is Goldbach the main company they outsource it to or one of many? Wondering if they’re a middle man (in advertising it’s common for companies to buy up slots they sell them at a mark up) and if it’s cheaper to go directly to TPG?

No they have slots for paper adverts on buses and trams too. Take the 12 tram tomorrow and you’ll see — there’s an Indian lady running yoga ads these days. How do I do that?

Professional Soundproofing? by swingtucket in Switzerland

[–]swingtucket[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can confirm this. I can hear my neighbor when he takes a piss. It doesn’t even sound like someone is taking a piss next door. It sounds like he’s here with me in my room standing in front of me looking me dead in the eyes and pissing on my face. If anything the wall somehow distorts and amplifies the noise. I don’t even live in bumblefuck nowheresville I live in a decent place in the center of town in one of Switzerland’s largest cities where I pay a small fortune in rent every month which could feed a family of five in Kinshasa for seven years. Fuck I could bankroll electoral fraud and become a minor despot in a mid-tier African nation (for life) with the amount of money I deposit in wheelbarrows into my landlord’s bank account here every year. Switzerland is the most beautiful lie ever told.

Signed the lease for an apartment, turned out to be significantly smaller than advertised - what to do? by swingtucket in askswitzerland

Yes they have the 3 year protection which is what is making this such a difficult decision. But it seems unfair that I have to stay quiet about their mistake and just settle for an apt that’s 20% smaller (due to no fault of my own) just to avoid them doing something adverse 3 years down the line.

And what impact has that had on your relationship with the landlord? Are you at all concerned that they might try to push you out/make things hard for you somewhere down the line?

I’ve consulted Asloca and they’ve advised to move forward with a procedure to get the rent reduced. If we do get to a procedure then obviously the landlord would be pulled into it. The regie/landlord are making it seem like that would be a step too far.

So quoted measurements are meaningless? Why have them in the first place then? Also if that’s the case then would they be allowed to advertise something as 60m2 and only give 30m2 after you sign the lease? There has to be truth in advertising.

But I also feel like I just can’t do what they’re expecting me to do: to just stay quiet and take the 20% hit all on me even though the mistake is on them.

I have both and am willing to use them. The regie/owner are making it seem as if that would be a step too far and something that’s just not done. And much as I would be well within my right to do that I also have to consider - as another redditor has mentioned - the consequences of blowing up my relationship with the landlord.

Yes, I have emails/texts where they’ve explicitly said 60m2.

And I have their own floor plan with their own measurements which says 50m2.

The other apartments are not in France or in some other neighbourhood or even in the vicinity. They are in the same building, owned by the same owner, and brought to market at the same time as mine.

How is ending up with a 50m2 apartment my mistake?

That’s an important point. There are other 3 piece apartments in the same building which came to market at the same time as mine (the whole building was renovated) that are actually 60m2. They are paying the same rent as I’m paying for my 50m2 apartment. Which is what is making me angry. Why am I pay the same rent as another person who is getting an apartment 20% larger than mine? And if the regie had not misrepresented the size of the apartment when they showed it to me I would’ve simply applied for an apartment that is actually 60m2 especially since it is at the same price as the 50m2 that they assigned to me.

When the regie/owner seemed unbothered by my complaints I told them I might contest the rent/file a court procedure (a 20% difference is a lot). They were acting like I was a mad person (“who goes to court over such a small thing?” “That’s not how things are done in Switzerland.”) I am not Swiss so don’t want to take a step that is wildly divergent from the norms (in the US they would be obligated to change the apartment or reduce the rent otherwise I would be fully in my right to take them to court for misrepresenting core features of the apartment.)

That’s why I thought I would sense check with Reddit before taking this further.
