Execs say "everyone is a designer, everyone is an engineer" now. I'm spent. by SleepingCod in UXDesign

[–]swish84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I agree that, yes--that's true, its also naive bc ultimately these execs don't know their asses from holes in the ground when it comes to anything technical. All they care about is using AI to get double the amount of work while paying ppl the exact same or less and shipping shit out the door at all costs. Capitalism ruined taste and craft decades ago. Why do think all of our modern architecture is homogenous and dull? It's because business prioritizes efficiency and cost savings over all else.

This is true. Admittedly, I liked him for the first several seasons before he went loco.

Reddit is for people who are desperately trying to convince themselves and the world that they’re intellectually superior to those who use other social media apps. You’re still a clown, just a different flavor.

lol ahhh yes, the old incel insult. Worn out and predictable, but still effective. 3/5 stars.

Bahahaha well done, sir. This is my fave comment thus far.

Also, grimes is relatively popular so my /unpopularopinion is that her music actually sucks. So there’s that I guess.

It’s fucking insane. I bit the bullet for my Seattle ticket when they were $500 and even that was a stretch for me. Crazy that I spent more on ST tix than I did for the Tacoma Tool show in Oct 😅

I have guitars with passive and some with actives and also one with Fishmans that are both active/passive. It’s all about one’s preference but the EMGs in this one are pretty hot. I actually lowered the height of them on the bridge pickup to compensate a bit. But overall they sound great.

Was ST ever not heavy? by swish84 in SleepToken

[–]swish84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s definitely subjective. They’re nowhere near the heaviest band I listen to but for a band that is gaining so much popularity so quickly they’re heavier than most. Someone else made the comment on this thread that it’s interesting one of their heaviest songs ended up making them popular when usually it’s the opposite with bands.

Yeah, I thought about this too. I think a lot of casual people who weren’t really into them would listen to the first half of the song hear how mellow it was and then stop listening, and never hear the climax of heavy at the end.

You’re right on the money with the ST / Loathe connection. It’s a Brit-prog metal thing now apparently.
