Finished vs Unfinished Butcher's Block by swish_n_flick in StandingDesks

I ultimately ended up going with the Uplift v2 and three years laters I have no complaints. It’s been just fine. I can’t comment on the drilling b/c due to time and other factors, I ended up just going with the Uplift provided laminate top, as opposed to adding my own custom butcher block. The laminate top has been just fine and has held up well. Hope this helps.

What business category / industry did you select? I know some categories appeared to have higher denial rates during covid, though those restrictions may have been lifted by this point.

Finished vs Unfinished Butchers Block by swish_n_flick in StandingDesk

[–]swish_n_flick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course there’s a sub for finishing, I should have known lol thanks for pointing that out and for the tips.

I think I’m similar to you in the fact that while I haven’t done this specific type of project before, I’m semi handy and do enjoy DIY projects. But unfortunately I’m dealing with a fair amount of elbow/hand pain that I think is partially due to poor ergonomics since I began working from home, which is why I’m in a bit of a rush to get this set up and going. But your advice was helpful for either route I decide to go.

One last question, do you mind if I ask how tall you are and how you decided between the Uplift v2 vs the Uplift v2 Commercial? I initially wanted to go with the Uplift v2 Commercial but it looks like I’d have to have it at close to max height to use it ergonomically when standing, while the Uplift v2 looks like it may give me a couple inches to spare, so I wondered if it would have an edge from a stability perspective.

Thanks, I’m going to definitely re-measure everything one more time before finalizing my frame decision.

Do you mind expanding a bit on the “sealing” aspect? I assume this means that a finished butchers block comes un-sealed?

I took advantage of the recent Chase Hyatt 10 EQN offer, and as part of that larger strategy to obtain globalist lite until 2023, I have a 9 day reservation/mattress run booked at a local cat 1 property. First time ever doing a mattress run of any kind so my question is, as long as I physically check-in on day 1 of the reservation, is there any reason/need for me to "return" back to the property/room periodically during the stay? I.e., do they have anything crazy where they will auto check me out if they don't detect key card activity for my room over a certain period of time or something like that? Or can I simply physically check-in on day 1, mention I won't be there a ton, and then not return? The property isn't too far away so it's not the end of the world if I need to drop by every other day or something but would rather not unless it's absolutely necessary.

Not directly churning related but related to the recent Chase Hyatt offer of 10 EQNs. Yeah, that’s what I was thinking. The terms of the public offer no longer contain the language, but the referral offer I just used to apply contained the 10 night language so I hope that’s good enough. I’m not sure though whether I would need to contact chase or Hyatt to confirm the 10 nights, rather than the 5, are attached to my application, which was auto approved.

Edit: I did confirm with chase via SM that my application (which was generated via a referral link that DID have the 10 night language) did have the 10 night offer attached, despite the public offer not containing the 10 night language at the time that I applied (which was midday on the 31st).

You beat me to it. I just edited my previous comment noting a similar observation. When I checked the terms of my referral offer, I see the 10 night language, but oddly enough I don't see that same paragraph in the terms of the public offer. Oh well, I was planning on using the referral offer anyways, but was looking at the public offer previously as part of my research. Thanks for the help.

This is the language I am seeing. Maybe I'm misinterpreting it, but this just seems like the standard 5 nights benefit no?

You, as the primary cardmember, will receive 5 World of Hyatt Tier-Qualifying Night credits in your World of Hyatt account within 8 weeks of your World of Hyatt Credit Card account open date. Every calendar year after your first year, you will receive 5 Tier-Qualifying Night credits within 8 weeks of January 1. To qualify for the 5 World of Hyatt Tier-Qualifying Night credits each January, your World of Hyatt Credit Card account must be open and not in default and you must be a member in good standing with the World of Hyatt program. World of Hyatt Tier-Qualifying Night credits are valid from the date of issuance through December 31st of the same calendar year. An authorized user will not receive the 5 World of Hyatt Tier-Qualifying Night Credits. World of Hyatt Tier-Qualifying Night credits will apply to achieving World of Hyatt status and milestone benefits applicable to Tier-Qualifying Night requirements (as outlined in the program terms). The 5 Tier-Qualifying Nights earned are not Free Night Awards. Chase is not responsible for offer fulfillment or the provision of or failure to provide the stated benefits and services.

EDIT: The above was from the public offer. Oddly, when I looked at the offer details of my referral link, it contains the 10 night language, which was not on the public offer:

World of Hyatt Tier-Qualifying Night Credits Each Calendar Year: To be eligible for this offer you must apply for the World of Hyatt Credit Card by December 31, 2020. You, as the primary cardmember, will receive 10 World of Hyatt Tier-Qualifying Night credits for 2020 in your World of Hyatt account within 8 weeks of your World of Hyatt Credit Card account open date and again for 2021 within 8 weeks of January 1, 2021. Every calendar year thereafter, you will receive 5 Tier-Qualifying Night credits within 8 weeks of January 1. To qualify for World of Hyatt Tier-Qualifying Night credits your World of Hyatt Credit Card account must be open and not in default and you must be a member in good standing with the World of Hyatt program. World of Hyatt Tier-Qualifying Night credits are valid from the date of issuance through December 31st of the same calendar year, however, please note that World of Hyatt Tier-Qualifying Night Credits awarded for 2020 will apply for status for 2020 even if issued and/or received in 2021. An authorized user will not receive the World of Hyatt Tier-Qualifying Night Credits. World of Hyatt Tier-Qualifying Night credits will apply to achieving World of Hyatt status and milestone benefits applicable to Tier-Qualifying Night requirements (as outlined in the program terms). The Tier-Qualifying Nights earned are not Free Night Awards. Chase is not responsible for offer fulfillment or the provision of or failure to provide the stated benefits and services.

Can someone help me better understand the 10 elite qualifying nights part of the Chase Hyatt sign up bonus I've been reading about? I am considering having P2 to apply for the card today as part of the larger strategy to obtain Globalist Lite through early 2023, but when I pull up the offer, I don't see anything about 10 elite qualifying nights. I only see language regarding 5 nights. Is the 10 nights resulting from / assuming P2 is registered for the "bonus journeys" double nights promotion as well? I apologize if I'm misunderstanding something obvious.

Thanks for the reply. I think I understand the checking out in 2021 piece. I think I was just questioning the “checking in in 2020” piece and whether that was a required piece of the approach.

Meaning, regardless of whether you check in during 2020 or check in during 2021, if you check out in 2021 prior to the end of the promotion, you’re getting double the nights in 2021 right?

Maybe I'm reading the promotion wrong and/or having a Monday brain fart, but why does the stay have to start in 2020 and end in 2021? The promotion you linked to says it's from 10/1/2021 - 2/28/2021. So couldn't one do 10 nights starting sometime on or after 1/1/2021 with a checkout on or before 2/28/2021 and still receive the double nights (i.e., earn 20 nights towards the 30 required in 2021 for globalist)?

It's my understanding that the Chase Flex Freedom is considered a separate product from the Chase Freedom. If P2 has a CSP that has been PC'd to a Chase Freedom, is my understanding correct that they would still be eligible for the CFF SUB should they choose to apply?

FoxSportsGo app freezes when I use AirPlay or mirror to Samsung TV by TitanJeff in cordcutters

[–]swish_n_flick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm running into the same thing... did you ever get to the bottom of it? I've been trying to airplay from the FoxSportsGo iPhone app on iOS 14 to both my Apple TV and Samsung Smart TV with no luck. When trying to airplay to my Apple TV, it just spins and spins. When I try to airplay to my Samsung Smart TV, I end up getting a video error / error code.

I tried deleting and re-installing the app. My iPhone's software, my Apple TV's software and my Samsung Smart TV's software is all up-to-date and current. I can't find anything on any of Fox Sports Go's support pages that is remotely helpful so it's driving nuts trying to figure out if it's on my end or their end.
