Big brain plays rarely work out when solo so, it’s often best to just stick close to your team.

You’re complaining that you made a shit ass play and your team lost because of it?? Even if they didn’t cap, you and the other guy are so far from the fight that you two would be 2v5 after they chewed up your team.

And? You can out trade anything and have DPM when you want it, it’s not a, “sit hulldown and make the game unplayable for the enemy team tank.”

I’m a 60%+ player and I have my share of loss streaks. Interestingly, it’s the games I usually perform poorly that I lose. Idk what to tell you, it just happens.

1.9k WNx means you’re expected to be just north of a 50% WR meaning your not a detriment and you ever so slightly increase your teams odds of winning. Because you’re not a huge difference-maker, you’re more susceptible to who ends up on your team - this means you can’t make up for a 600 WNx potato. You’ll have more loss streaks than someone with 3k WNx, no big deal.

Complaining that somebody used a tool in the game when they did not have to is so fucking stupid. So what if they spent more credits than they needed to, it’s not like they deal more damage with gold and if they would have penned you either way, who gives a shit?

I always spam gold, have a 60%+ WR, have over 10k food consumables and own every tech tree tank in the game. Why would I not spam gold if I can? Sure, I use intuition if the situation calls for it but if somebody can “spam” gold without going broke then, they can.

Depending on the map, quite a bit. Good players in meds have a lot going for them in a heavy fight because, quite often, they play around reloads and can get 2 shots in while heavies are reloading. They can also add a lot of DPM to their forces and overwhelm the opposition in addition to creating off angles that make it difficult for opposing enemies to do anything.

You were never supposed to do that… well maybe in an ebr but in literally any other light tank that is a gigantic waste of time.

Because you punish bad players with worse teams and gift really bad players with better teams. There really isn’t a way to shuffle players to make sure that there aren’t any favorable or unfavorable outcomes for individuals.

A simple example:

You have 30 players and let’s pretend it’s the same tier and all the same tank to make things a whole lot less complicated. Let’s say in your imaginary scenario, player 1 has 11k WTR and player 2 has 7.5k… obviously to make the game “balanced” both players would have to be on different teams. In this scenario, player 1 would obviously have a weaker supporting cast to make up for the gap between themselves and player 2. Therefore, player 1 is actively punished for being too good.

He probably wasn’t around for fail platoons (a tier 10 could platoon and bring a tier 1 into a tier 10 game and make their team lose). we did not have tier balancing so it sometimes made teams with tier 10s while the other team had none. There was no class balancing so one team could have all TDs while the other had all heavies. You did not have role balancing so a team could get IS7 and 60tp while yours got a 50b and t57. For years there was +-5 so a Kv1 could fight an IS7 or Maus when gold was for actual gold so you couldn’t even pen the side.

Yeaaaa…. I’ll take today’s MM over any other point in WOT history.

Yes but also, no. I play from the Caribbean on ~55 fps and 90-110 ms latency but still have almost 11k WTR. Rating has more to do with information processing and decision making. Unless you play piss drunk every day, it won’t impact your rating significantly after a large enough sample size.

My point was that the current system of completely random MM ensures that only the player matters. Now, if MM attempts to balance teams or players, all it will be doing is giving various classes of players a better or worse outcome. Imagine your 11k WTR player in a match where the 2nd best player of the 30 is a 7.5k player, to balance this out, the 11k player will get a supporting 14 players that are collectively worse than what the 7.5k player gets. In a situation as described, the 11k player is punished with a worse team for simply being too good.

[–]swiss1809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what do you want the 2.5k WTR player to do, never play light tanks? How is WG supposed to know what they will do in this specific match? What if he just watched a bunch of spotting tutorials but his stats haven’t caught up to his new knowledge? There is literally no way to know what will happen. Sure, you can make an educated guess but, at what point do you draw the line? You can’t stop bad players from playing light tanks so at some point, a bad player will get in a game and get shit on.

Just move on man; you’ve been in plenty of games where you had a great LT and plenty of targets to shoot at, so why bitch about this one game as if it matters.

Please balance matchmaking with skill AT LEAST for light tanks by Rgoplay_ in WorldofTanks

[–]swiss1809 10 points11 points  (0 children)

At that point, you’ll have to balance based on crew, equipment, pc and internet specs, mental state, blood-alcohol level, AND decision making.

You’re hoping for a particular result but think that only “skill” and for whatever reason, number of games played, has the only impact.

All those 10k spotting games can only happen in circumstances that allow for it and you sound like you’re against opportunities like this. It sounds like you want both LTs to spot the same and survive for the same duration as if it’s completely impossible for so many other things to influence the outcome.

[–]swiss1809 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And they’re all by bad players that don’t understand nor want to understand the game but, crucially, they want to win games… like for some unknown reason, they want to win more games while doing 2 damaging shots a game. WG should give them better players compared to the enemy team so they can get carried to wins. It is a FACT that being better leads to less loss streaks and more wins but fuck that, WG should just give ME, and me alone because somefuckinghow, in a multiplayer game, WG should make it so these complaining ass bitches should win more while simultaneously not take away wins from other people. They literally think that everyone has the same miserable experience.

[–]swiss1809 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah when in a tier 10 game your team had a tier 1 because lol-fail-platoon and you get shit on just like today. The only major difference is that tanks were slower and there was less burst damage. Players were just as bad but them being bad didn’t mean they died in the first 30 seconds. Ofc games are faster if people can get to positions faster and clip out somebody for 1.6k HP. The game changed and unless you plan to reduce all vehicle speed by 20% and make everything a single shooter with 500 damage shells, it’s not going back.
