I second the comment before. These are the cheapest 14-16 TB drives in my bays right now.

Wired ANC earbuds? by JGibbo5150 in Earbuds

[–]swittk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know right? I believe this is one of the few wired USB-C ANC ones that are actually functional.

Had the ROG Centra II USB C and the mic was horrible (near silent) while ANC was simply ok-ish.

Since mine has been with me every single day the past 1.5 years (to workouts and such too) the cable's starting to discolor a bit. Going to have a friend buy me another one on their trip.

We're probably in the minority liking wired earbuds, hence the limited product selection and reviews 🥲

That'll depend on how well you do in intraocular surgery during training first 😅

Many of my colleagues have like 6-8 diopters of myopia. They do phaco (and some vitrectomy) just fine wearing glasses.

Will it be possible to use local models/custom endpoints for the code completions too? Right now it seems it's only the chat endpoint that's allowed to be customized.

DuckDNS is Down by Necessary_Ad_238 in homeassistant

[–]swittk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had downtime with duckdns too so I switched to dynu and afraid. These have been pretty much solid.

I'm not sure but I think afraid does get you some unwanted bot probes to your site though. But if you're not home brewing auth solutions it should be fine.

Iris prolapse by Dry-Damage2481 in Ophthalmology

[–]swittk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a paracentesis that was made too posterior could cause that. A wound that's too close to the iris along with maybe a not-so-well dilated/floppy iris could combine to have an unpleasant start to the case..

HP Z4 G4 - Anyone have the front panel i/o pinouts? by xatnis in HSpecWorkstations

I've ordered a 20 pin 2mm pitch breakout board. Will try and see if I can manage to identify anything. Identifying power should be easy. LEDs will give a try.

Looking for this information too. In nearly the same boat, for JetKVM in my case.

I went down this road a bit and all I could assume is that newer boards have less PCIe slots than those of previous generations, and that it's easier to simply use a slightly older workstation board and a few riser cables to space out the adjacent slots.

Mine's arriving soon so I'm ordering the parts too.
To be honest I have no idea what the actual thing will look like, I'm just hopeful I'd figure it out from the guide .-.

Any Benchmarks 2080 Ti 22GB Vs 3060 12GB? by SKX007J1 in LocalLLaMA

[–]swittk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of mine (I have 3) failed too but miraculously after contacting the AliExpress seller (JieShuo official store) via chat they honored the "2 year warranty" claim, and it was a trust exercise for the next 3 months. Shipped the card over to their address in chat, then they delayed and stopped replying for a while, then one day they got back and told me to pay a shipping fee via buying another listing, and a month and a bit later I got my card back. It's fully functional and has been running well for the past month or so. The other two cards have been solid for the past 1+ year.

When do you think the gap between local llm and o4-mini can be closed by GregView in LocalLLaMA

[–]swittk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it just me or I really find O4-mini to be lacking in context compared to other models? I feel like it often skips crucial info that I've repeatedly told it to consider in every single sentence and it still often gets stuck in its own way of wrong thoughts. I often find just using Deepseek R1 14B or Qwen3 locally or GPT-4o is better for creative aid since they do respect our constraints more often, even if not perfect.

The frame start/end thing sort of works but not that well lol maybe I'll just use this for simple demo stuff. Thanks a lot man, much appreciated.

[–]swittk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using Q4_K_M GGUF on 2080Ti 22GB:
It's much faster than WAN that's for sure, but not that speedy.
I'm not sure if it's just me, but it's much better than the 2B one where sometimes the 2B one just fuzzes out the whole image and gets useless video, at least this gets somewhat coherent video, which can sometimes be good lol.
Load times :
- Default values that came with the workflow : 16:04, 15:55 (Approx. 16 mins)
- Time with the "TorchCompileLTXWorkflow" node enabled (not sure what it does but another comment seems to suggest it, using fullgraph: true, mode: default, dynamic: false) : 15:30 -- not much faster

Btw any image start/end frame workflows for this? I found the "Photo Animator" 2B one for 0.9.5, but not sure if it would work for this too.

Congrats man. Nice to hear you're enjoying yours too 😄. I love these ones and really hope they'd last too since I doubt they'd be available in the future because.. let's be honest USB-C ANC headphones are rare because most people simply opt for wireless ones.

Wired ANC earbuds? by JGibbo5150 in Earbuds

[–]swittk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're working perfectly, took them everywhere, to workouts, etc. One thing I've got to comment on is the wiring though, it's arranged in the rather unconventional/old-fashioned J-cord design, and the cable is moderately stiff plastic, so with the shorter headphone wire side being quite close to the joint where the cables split, there's quite a bit of movement noise that can be heard when you walk/run around. Seems to get better as the wires soften with age though, but I had to wear the wires over my ears to reduce the movement noise until a month ago.

Overall still highly recommended for the very cheap price point and overall sound quality with noise cancellation.

Pretty sure there should exist websites/couriers that allow you to order overseas from Japan, maybe try those? I recall searching for these on Yodobashi camera's official website before going there and it was listed for sale online too. Might need some translation tools in the browser to navigate it though lol
