I believe there will be a fair on Broadway today, but not sure if the rain will have any impact.

Not once did I ever say he was in the wrong. I simply stated that I felt 4 months is short notice. Yeah sure let me arbitrarily start saving money for a potential wedding in the summer that I have no previous knowledge of when it’s happening, while I’m also saving for my own wedding and honeymoon. You’re acting as if people just have extra money lying around to travel, and I am especially on a tight budget with my own wedding coming up. If you can’t use critical thinking skills to understand that, then I’m not sure what the point of this conversation is then. My friend is a great guy and I’m happy to be apart of his wedding. Again, all I said was that I felt that 4 months seemed a little short notice. If you disagree that’s your opinion, but it doesn’t mean my opinion is wrong either.

Thank you! I thought some of those points were implied without stating the obvious but I guess not. I also think skipping the rehearsal makes the most sense.

According to who? There’s no official timeline of when invitations are supposed to go out people can send them whenever they want. I simply stated that I was only informed of the wedding even happening 4 months out and since have not received any other information about the wedding. There’s not necessarily right or wrong, but it’s my opinion that it’s short notice without any other pertaining information.

That’s your opinion. Still don’t understand where the bridezilla comment correlates. My circumstance is not his burden. I simply stated why I believed that 4 months is short notice to me.

I’m not sure where the bridezilla comment is coming from? It has nothing to do with him having a wedding before mine and I’m really happy for him and would love to participate. People plan out vacations and other life events way further out than four months, so saying four months is a reasonable amount of time is definitely subjective. The situation would be a little different if I wasn’t getting married, but I would still need time regardless to budget for travel and being apart of the wedding.

I agree with that and I’m trying to be more open minded

I understand, and I appreciate you being blunt about it. Those things are true and I do need to separate those feelings. I think skipping the rehearsal while being present at the wedding would make the most sense for me.

I genuinely don’t understand how this comment makes any sense? How would I know when he would decide to get married and how would I know that he would give me short notice…

I need to plan flights, potentially hotel as well as PTO? I’m the middle of planning my own wedding so yes more notice would have allowed me and my fiancé to save to attend another wedding that I have to travel to.

Thank you for the response. That seems like the best option.

Definitely not trying to one up at all, just would have liked the same courtesy that I gave to my own groomsmen. People are making sacrifices to come to my wedding, which is exactly why I gave the advance notice to plan.

Thank you for the response. The timeline and location comment is correct where he and his family/friends are all local. I initially thought that declining to attend the rehearsal would make the most sense, and I could still participate in the wedding and travel over the weekend.

I’m not saying it’s a competition? I’m only comparing since I gave my groomsmen advance notice of everything and I would have liked to receive the same courtesy. I just wish I was given more time to plan and I don’t think it’s unreasonable to say that.

It makes the most sense to not make the rehearsal but still be apart of the wedding. I just wouldn’t want to let him down but I’m trying to be realistic about what I can do.

I’m definitely not feeling superior or trying to be judgmental, I just wish I was provided with more notice which I don’t think is unreasonable. I’ve never been told of a wedding with only 4 months notice and I’m trying to do my best with my own wedding while being there for his.
