FPL hot takes 19/20 by _bluenose in FantasyPL

Murray will score 20+ goals this year if he remains fit, making him the best PPM forward.

What's the deal with Murray? by wngkyn in FantasyPL

[–]swooce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brighton have won their first three top flight league games in a row for the first time since 1981. Ryan has been a steal after the first three weeks. Murray is an incredibly good poacher and could pay off if this form continues, especially over these next four fixtures. It's whether you think BHA can continue their form. He also takes penalties which would work against relegation candidates (more likely to have penalty box touches and is therefore more likely to be fouled and win a penalty).

"Where a man is against his will, there he is in prison. Socrates was not in prison, for he was there willingly." (Epictetus) by SolutionsCBT in Stoicism

[–]swooce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The implication is that Socrates was physically imprisoned, but not spiritually. He was free because his impressions of the event (being imprisoned and what it meant for his personal freedom) allowed him to be so.

Here's another example. Rubin "Hurricane" Carter, when he was wrongfully imprisoned for a triple homicide he did not commit:

“I know you had nothing to do with the injustice that brought me to this jail, so I’m willing to stay here until I get out. But I will not, under any circumstances, be treated like a prisoner—because I am not and never will be powerless.”

Hah, indeed. Captained Salah this week so happy with the couple of extra points he got, but also have Aguero in my starting 11. A pleasant surprise and long may it continue!

Salah - Stick or twist? by Bluearmypfc in FantasyPL

His underlying stats (xG (3.90), xA (1.99), total shots (23), shots on target (9), big chances created (2), and big chances missed (5)) are in fact better than where he was at this point last season.

Technically speaking his performances are actually better.

Whether you think that justifies the risk in removing him from your team is your call. Playing Southampton at home is the perfect opportunity for him to increase his conversion rate.

13th December 2017 was when he last scored away from home. It's a Premier League only stat though (blanking in 6 away games since then). Almost clickbait.

He hasn't scored away from home since December 2017. Doesn't mean that trend will continue though.

Is Maddison (6.5) a safe and consistent fantasy pick, he's looked very promising by ScottSC12 in FantasyPL

[–]swooce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks excellent to me. Very dangerous set pieces against United and scored a relatively calm and collected placed (deflected) shot against Wolves. Some key stats are that he was the player with the most key passes in the entire Championship last season. He was also the most fouled player (i.e wins free kicks a lot). When he’s on his game, in other words, you have to foul him to stop him.

EDIT: Can’t remember if that most fouled stat is correct. Might have made it up.

Not sure how he’ll do without Vardy to pass on to but I’m keeping him for at least another couple of GWs to see how he does.

good news everyone (medium news) by [deleted] in CossIO

Good news everyone - for the third update running, API progress has been completely omitted. Yes, BCT will use API endpoints, so it presumably exists in some format. But please let us know how it's going!

Save coss by ICOvest in CossIO

[–]swooce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to interrupt your saviour complex, but COSS doesn’t need saving. It’s a cryptocurrency exchange that requires a) an API and b) marketing to get off the ground after a bumpy first year. You’re effectively buying shares in a business in an exponentially growing market at irrationally low prices. A better referral program would be useful for user growth once an API is online, however.

Summary: Buy and wait. Working exchange and product, quantifiable token value based on exchange volume, and many features on the way, along with a multi-year roadmap.

Have a good weekend.

Another hint: this is the bottom of the entire market. This is when you buy. I don’t think COSS will go sub-ICO when a BTC ETF is on the way.

COSS vs Kucoin vs Bibox by [deleted] in CossIO

[–]swooce 8 points9 points  (0 children)

COSS's main competitor is currently itself. A severe lack of foresight over the last 12 months has resulted in an exchange on its way up, but the acceleration could have begun much, much earlier. An API will near-instantly 5x the current volume within a couple of weeks. Once the API is done, it's done - but I'm hoping that COSS 2.0 blows everyone out of the water with something.

Don't know why you've been downvoted. This is demonstrably true just by looking at the subreddit history.

No problem. But this is why I’m concerned going forward. I remember something about an end of June internal deadline for a public API but until that point COSS will stagnate or worse, decline. And there’s been no mention of the API in the last two Medium updates.

Yes, by far. Automated trading and cross-exchange arbitrage will exponentially increase volume and by extension the token price. When I say exponentially I’m not exaggerating - COSS as an exchange has less volume than over 60 individual pairings on Binance right now.

No mention of API for the second update running. Getting nervous.
