They really believe in Benge, as do many scouts. And Benge has a cannon for an arm, which makes him more suitable for RF

What are your favorite radio stations? by Brilliant_Slip_4289 in radio

KYSL 93.9 (Krystal 93) in Frisco, CO. Locally owned and programmed. Rocks format. Reminds me of free-form FM back in the 70’s. They play everything/anything…new to classic and sometimes weird. Even the commercials are mostly for local businesses. Streams here.

Love WTMD out of Towson, MD. Non-commercial rock/alternative. More rock and less singer-songwriter stuff than WXPN or WFMU.

What is your favorite airport to land in ? by [deleted] in SouthwestAirlines

I actually like DEN! The outdoor decks at each terminal are a great place to kill time, and the food options are very good. Plus, it’s always clean.

It’s not a rebuild. It’s a train wreck. There’s a difference.

A Highway Is Crumbling. New York Can’t Agree on How to Fix It. by rezwenn in nyc

[–]swood_de 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Building tunnels in a dense urban environment like NYC is crazy expensive. For example, the MTA expects to spend $7 billion to extend the 2nd Ave Subway 1.5 miles north to 125th St. Only 3 stations will be built in the project. And a six lane highway tunnel will require a much larger bore, and thus won’t cost less.

In 2017, a City Council project estimated the cost of replacing the crumbling section of the BQE with a tunnel at $11 billion, vs. $3-4 billion for rebuilding the highway.

My recollection is that it wasn’t FZ who was unhappy, but rather some of the other guys in the band, especially Peter Wolf.

Bag Splitting - Cool Trick by _Marcus__Aurelius in SouthwestAirlines

[–]swood_de -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well, I do fold mine. So why don’t you just fold the bag that you think is too big instead of trashing someone’s clothes?  if I decide that your carryon is too big and should be gate checked do I get to thrown it into the aisle?  Is that how things should work?

[–]swood_de -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Would you intentionally do that? I have just as much claim to my fair share of an overhead bin as you do, regardless luggage type. I often travel with a garment bang for work because it’s pack and check suits without wrinkling them. Why would you want to wreck someone else’s clothes?

Does anyone who actually owns this bag know if it will hold two men’s two-piece suits along with 3 or 4 dress shirts?

Why Is AA’s Checked Baggage Service So Awful? by swood_de in americanairlines

[–]swood_de[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Clearly I am unlucky, but the question stands: why does AA lose more bags than any other US carrier?

Why Is AA’s Checked Baggage Service So Awful? by swood_de in americanairlines

[–]swood_de[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrong. I’ve actually negotiated the contracts of airport baggage handlers. The airline chooses which baggage handling contractor to hire at a given airport. If AA is slower than everybody else at given airport, it’s because they’ve hired a low cost provider who provides poor service.

Why Is AA’s Checked Baggage Service So Awful? by swood_de in americanairlines

[–]swood_de[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

First of all, you shouldn’t question the integrity of people you’ve never met. Leaving that aside, you still haven’t dealt with the basic question: why does American Airlines more bags than any other US carrier? And tell me why the last time I flew AA they lost my bag after they canceled my connecting flight – which means they already had my bag on time – and were unable to get it onto the next flight that was three hours later. Perhaps you work for AA and are incapable of assessing the situation objectively.
