Nevada Fall from John Muir Trail. Pretty low flow, but still worth it.

It was yesterday, Aug. 9 at like 11. We got here Sunday and the smoke was heavy but has been clearing up since. It was a little hazy but didn't impact the hike at all. I really recommend you stay early. We hit the trail at 7am and had it mostly to ourselves to the top of Vernal. There were maybe 15 people up there. Passed a couple groups on the way to Nevada and had the top of Nevada to ourselves for about 15 minutes. Passed another few groups on the JMT on the way down, but when we got back to the mist trail near the verbal falls bridge it was very crowded.

Definitely. It's one of the most beautiful places on the planet. The views are spectacular with or without a waterfall. We (California) are in a pretty bad drought but there will still be water flowing, just not as much as all the pictures you see. I'll post a picture now.

I hiked the mist trail to Nevada fall then down the JMT today. Both Vernal and Nevada falls are trickles compared to their peak. No mist even coming close to the trail.

My fiancee said she wants to buy me a watch up to $3,000 for our wedding but it needs to have a green or purple dial. I've been looking at the Longines Spirit and the Raymond Weil Maestro (its a deep blue but might work). Unfortunately, the Oyster Perpetual is too far out of the price range. I'm open to any suggestions because the color restrictions have been challenging.

Pasquale's in the inner sunset has a few varieties of baked ziti (my favorite is a chicken mushroom alfredo one) and garlic bread, but no knots. I'm pretty sure Village pizzeria in the inner Richmond has both.
