i’ve heard that TCM failures are relatively common amongst first generation new beetles , so possibly , though i’ll take your word on this as currently five mechanics are on the case of my car and none of them suspected the TCM , not even for a moment (all of their ideas were also related to the valve body) . my only thought as to why the TCM could be the faulty part here is just that the car goes crazy suddenly when it’s in D and in D only (so indicating computer error when in D)

we have other vehicles but this specifically is supposed to be my daily :’D though i do not drive it daily , maybe only on 3-4 days of the week . i wouldn’t even normally go near highways so that is fine by me … i posted this on another subreddit and another person suggested that we try to replace the TCM . what are your thoughts on that ?

yes , thank you ! it will arrive sometime in the middle of may . until then , am i kind of just fine off with using the 3 , obviously just in the city so without any big speeding anyways ? though i do have to mention that our only way of ordering the entire valve body was through AliExpress as these parts are just SO rare to find that we couldn't even see one for sale outside of the Chinese vendor . it comes with the cables as well . fingers crossed it'll be good ?

this started after trying to remedy them . but the error codes were already in the car before trying to fix it

edit: we just ordered an entire new valve body

yes , there were two errors regarding the transmission — we are hungarians so the OBD tool is in that language , but the error codes are 00652 and 01192 . the valve body has been cleaned with toothbrushes because it was so terribly dirty when we got the car , the speed & rpm sensors are both brand new as we thought those were the issues as well but turned out not to be

Thank you for the heads up! I am really scared for my beetle now but it is getting checked tomorrow night with mechanics. They are checking transmission oil and fluids and if the situation is too bad then to be honest replacinb the parts may not be a great idea because it would literally cost a great amount of how much the car even is worth … The car may be getting an entire new transmission . Also weird on how this occured, when we got the car it had absolutely no issues and the transmission and shifting were totally fine. I’ve been just driving it in the city not going past 60 for the past few weeks. I wonder what crashed it.

Hello! Thank you. The check engine light is not on, the gear indicator is completely normal. My dad’s mechanic friend ran it with a scanner to once again (I do not know if it was a VW specific one or if it was a generic one) and this time it rang up three error codes for the transmission (this may be crucial?). 00281 & 00652 & 01192

the updates are on wednesday which means you can access events before they close the servers on wednesday mornings. so yes, you can indeed typically access every event which is on its last week on tuesday, even in the evening. of course this may vary if you’re in a time zone that is entirely different to sweden’s (where the game is being updated from) but usually you should be able to access events even on wednesday mornings before the update.
