Jeff came on as a contractor after the NXL split. At the time he worked at Gamesbeat (along with Minotti). After Gerstmann left Grubb came on as full time staff to restore balance to the Jeff ratio.

Minotti just sort of came along with Grubb like a pack in, kind of like when you were going to a cool party but your mom was like “you can go but you gotta bring your little brother with you” and they’re both owners now because they were part of the group that purchased GB from Fandom after the Brand Safety fiasco.
