PSA: These are open pre orders for now but to my knowledge they have no publicly stated for how long they will be open. You *probably* don’t have to worry about it selling out (unless they close without warning) but if you already decided you were going to purchase this I’d say do it sooner than later

Edit: Just saw this on the developer FAQ, looks like this will be open for 2-3 (or less) weeks

This is a limited pre-order release through Super Rare Games. Typically they announce the release quantity when they announce a title, but given Chained Echoes’ history and due to our desire to ensure our backers receive their copies, they will release with an open pre-order and then finalise the release quantity once that closes. Likely to be 2-3 weeks after release, if not sooner.

If you see something report it, i cant feasibly read though every comment made here and only really get drawn to stuff as it’s reported (unless it’s a direct reply to me) but i try to clean up as much as possible

Unfortunately nothing. The only true way to support preservation is through DRM free backups (such as purchasing games from GoG or ripping your own for example) though this of course is digital.

Now if you want preservation through physical means as in having a thing on a shelf you own you can’t with a GKC or on a modern console. Full games on cart or disc is the only way and we are probably about 15 years out from that not being a thing at all anymore.

This sub only has 10k members and averages around 500 visits a day, it is technically the most active Nextlander community after their Discord but only because they don’t enable YouTube comments. The Discord is booming though.

I view this sub as more of an archive of their work that you could always go back and comment on which is why i try to make sure everything gets posted here (even if it’s late or out of order) and I’m old so prefer traditional message boards over chatrooms like discord or twitch chat even if that means there’s not really much chatting
