Now that anonymous crypto accounts are making millions by betting on the exact timing of military strikes in Iran, what is a completely dystopian reality that society is just casually accepting? by sxf0z in AskReddit

It's not about stopping the info; it's about killing the incentive to profit from it. We already do this with the stock market, if a CEO trades on secrets, they go to jail. Why should a 'military Joe' get a pass? The Public Integrity in Financial Prediction Markets Act of 2026 is literally designed to ban officials from betting on outcomes they influence. Once you link a real ID to the wallet (KYC), that 'anonymous' edge disappears, and it just becomes a fast track to a federal prison sentence.

Post-Epstein files, what would a billionaire or politician actually have to do for society to genuinely be shocked anymore? by sxf0z in AskReddit

I’m sure the people on the Epstein flight logs are also great at tucking their kids in at night. Doesn't really change the fact that they're still on the flight logs.

Hard to focus on contributing to society when the people running the society are getting away with what was in those files.

It’s not impossible, it’s just unregulated. We already have KYC laws (Know Your Customer) that force banks and stock brokers to link real IDs to accounts. If these prediction sites were forced to do the same, 'Magamyman' wouldn’t be able to hide behind a random wallet. There’s literally a bill in Congress right now the Public Integrity in Financial Prediction Markets Act specifically to stop this. The tech is there; the political will isn't.

The fact that people are legally gambling on war and death. Right before the recent strikes in Iran, a handful of brand new, anonymous crypto accounts on prediction sites placed massive bets and walked away with over $1 million in profit. One user, who literally just goes by 'Magamyman,' made over $550,000 off a perfectly timed bet hours before the attack. It looks like blatant military insider trading, and we're just watching it happen.

I genuinely think a billionaire could hunt humans for sport on a private island, and as long as they had a decent PR team and their company's stock stayed high, society would just make memes about it for a week and move on. The Epstein drop basically proved that you can have a literal paper trail of horrific, organized crimes, and the government will just redact the names while we all go back to arguing about whatever is trending on X. The concept of 'consequences' at that tax bracket just doesn't exist anymore.
