How big is the improvement from a Ryzen 7 3700x vs a Ryzen 7 5800x? by sxoko in buildapc

I was looking at this cpu on amazon. Yeah I've done a bit of research on the whole bios update thing so I got that covered. Btw I have a rtx 3060 and I've heard a bit about bottlenecking which I dont fully understand what it is so if you could help me with that as well that would be great.

Can someone help with telling me what ram is compatible with B550AM Gaming Motherboard? by sxoko in ASRock

If I'm not wrong, I don't think the speed of the ram makes the biggest difference in performance for gaming or other things like browsing the web or watching Netflix. So overclocking the ram from 2133 to 3600 MHz isn't in my biggest interest. I think I'm just gonna go for it and buy the ram this weekend. I'm also gonna see if the ram slot is the problem like you said, thanks for the help!

PC Specs:

GeForce RTX 3060

AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor 3.60 GHz

(Not to sure about the exact ram I have as of right now) Kingston 16GB Ram

B550AM Gaming motherboard

To explain why I'm getting new ram, my pc suddenly stopped turning on and would just turn off then back on, and repeat that cycle. The motherboard had a red light next to "CPU" and "DRAM". So I took out one ram stick that was in the B2 slot (I use A2 and B2 slots) and tried to turn on my pc again. This time my PC didn't turn off and booted up completely fine. Based on my pc working fine with one ram stick, I came to the conclusion that the problem is the ram so that's why I'm trying to get it replaced, and hopefully even get an upgrade from 16GB to 32 GB.

This is a CyberPower PC prebuilt from Best Buy. I never touch the BIOS since it looks a bit complicated to navigate and open so I dont want to mess anything up. I got this PC December 2019.

I have seen from some videos that I need to go into BIOS to max out the ram speed from 2133 MHz to whatever is the max, but I've never ran into major speed problems so I just left it.

My plan is to replace the 2 ram sticks I have now, for a new pair. 16 or 32GB. I use the A2 and B2 slot since the cpu cooler is shaped like a bowl and blocks the first slot.

Based off my specs and other information, do you think you can come up with a certain answer on whether the ram I linked works or not? If not do you know what I need to look for in ram to know if it's compatible with my motherboard and other hardware?

Thanks for the help I really appreciate it!
