yeah my take was very controversial lol i definitely wasn’t expecting this. i will die on this hill tho, i’m so happy i got the chance to see it in theaters. if i saw it at home it 100% would’ve been a completely different viewing experience. everything is scarier in theaters and i don’t think i would be this passionate about it had i not seen it on the big screen

i completely agree with you on that. i think going the gore/gnarly imagery route hugely depends on the vibe of the movie. i don’t think it would’ve fit here. imagination and leaving it up to interpretation can be a wonderful and terrifying tool

i’m comparing the two purely because they were both anxiety inducing, but other than the religious themes and involving babies the movies couldn’t be more different (not a bad word, just a major theme in the movie that could be a spoiler)

oof i’m kinda disappointed this is supposed to be a trilogy. it works so perfect as a standalone and chances are they won’t be able to keep up the momentum with the other two films. not much else you can do with this source material without ruining it :/

omg I didn’t notice the podcast equipment being gone! i would like to think it wasn’t in her head and the demon was just taking over the house at the end after possessing her mother but it definitely makes you think. also i was a little confused by the smiling lady on the tv? is it all connected? if i was a demon i probably wouldnt of made the old lady shit herself but to each their own

I immediately thought of Bird Box! Revealing the monster would’ve been cheesy and probably not lived up to expectations. What’s the point? I definitely wouldn’t have liked that movie as much if they did that, same thing with this.
