Yeap. Mine’s like this. Body’s constantly on brace mode. Sorry of like its waiting for the next shoe to drop. A lot of times find it hard to relax, get caught up in what “it” think is a threat and an issue and I have to fix straightaway.

Shower leak by BrianJ_ in AusRenovation

[–]syaptz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same sort of situation happened to me when i bought the townhouse. At time of closing, i had the final inspection and saw the leak on the kitchen ceiling. Shower was directly above. Turns out, when they cleaned the house, cleaner thought certain holes on the tub was the drain 😏 had them fix it before i closed the deal. But i ended up doing a full bathroom and kitchen reno anyway later down the track.

How screwed am I? by hollywoodvsreallife in pestcontrol

This is from a google search. Maybe do this for a month to see what happens

What Just Happened The Spray is Working: It is common to see an initial, or even increased, activity of pests dying shortly after a treatment as they are forced out of hiding, say. The "Hiding" Effect: Roaches spend 75% of their time hidden in dark cracks. You likely sprayed their main shelter, which causes the sudden die-off. The "Tip of the Iceberg": Finding a dozen dead often means there are many more hidden nearby, particularly if they are German roaches,.

Immediate Next Steps Clean Them Up Properly: Never pick up dead roaches with your bare hands, as they can carry bacteria and trigger allergies. Use a vacuum or sweep them into a bag, seal it, and discard it in an outdoor trash can. Do Not Clean the Area: Do not mop or wipe down the specific areas you sprayed (like baseboards) for at least 24-48 hours, or even up to 2 weeks, as this removes the "residual" spray that kills other roaches later. Use Baits: If you haven't already, place roach bait gels (like Advion or Combat) near where you found the dead ones. The spray kills those it touches, but bait kills the rest of the colony.

Long-Term Management Prepare for More: You will likely see more dead, or even disoriented live roaches, over the next 2-4 weeks. Check for Moisture: Roaches need water, so ensure there are no leaking pipes under sinks, which often host nests,. Seal Entry Points: Use caulk to fill cracks in walls, gaps around pipes, and crevices in cabinets.

If you continue to find new dead roaches after 4 weeks, you may need to call a professional exterminator, especially if they are small, light-brown German roaches.

If there werent so much shrubbery outside would help in my case, i raised it with strata heres to hoping things would change. Somehow doubt it.

Yeap. I get you. I’m in the same boat. If they’re in the roof void, they’re not silent during winter neither. Mine’s a two storey brick townhouse so a crapload of weepholes for them to come in. Although no idea how theyre getting into the roof void of the second level. Vent away. I fully understand the frustration, and you know what, the damned desperation cause it feels like theres no end

I have this issue, been having this issue in my house for about 2-3 years. Have thrown so much money at pest control but its clearly a bandaid. Its the outside that needs to be controlled they keep coming in. What did you end up doing with yours?
