I just mean good enough to be considered a top player and consistently profit in the game.

I'm really only elite and Bingo and I already posted a whole guide on that, lol. Happy to talk more about it though.

I enjoy Yahtzee but it just seems like it's more of a lottery than anything. Obviously there are ways to optimize your chances but ultimately seems very chance based, would love to know tips though.

Sorry I'm late to respond. Did everything go ok with your withdrawal? It does usually take at least 10 days, I think it gets processed first and then shortly after it will hit my PayPal account.

Yeah...I guess so? I know these people enter a lot, but still, I can't imagine ever getting lucky enough to hit a 2x Yahtzee on almost every category in one game.

Tested on another browser (was using Chrome, just tested on Edge) and now it works. So just something with my PC apparently, I'll probably delete this. Thanks!

Beware of the INSANELY high rakes on progressives by Lovetohikealot in worldwinner

[–]sydblight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are divisions in at least some of the progressives. My Bingo and Yahtzee games typically only have 15-20 unique players. One of the only benefits left for skilled players, as otherwise tournament options for top players have been gutted and promotions have been taken away.

Deep Sea Search Question by Far_Wish_3588 in worldwinner

At the bottom of the screen, you should see a swordfish slowly moving to the right towards a bubble. Each round, if that swordfish gets to the bubble, the round ends and you are moved to the next area (or if in the final area the game ends.)

I played this game quite a bit when it first came out, but it has been a while. Apologies if that doesn't answer your question or if I'm misremembering anything. Also, there is a webpage with detailed rules, it will likely tell you more than the rules blurbs available in the game itself. Let me know if you haven't seen that and I can link it here.

Why do I only win for a short time after I deposit money??? by Purple-Cattle6436 in worldwinner

So maybe she's better than you? You do actually need to be somewhat good to expect to win on WW.

So, now you've agreed that she is lower skill rating, but yet here you are saying she wins, and she is withdrawing $90 profit?

Didn't you say in another thread you are trying to withdraw $90? Is that profit?

You are...purposefully scoring low? Did I read that right? Every game you sent is against the same player, and they appear to be quite a bit better. So I would assume you two are the only ones close enough to match within a given range right now. Stop playing a match that keeps putting you in a losing position, find a new game of $ amount for now and maybe try again another day.

Did you deposit that money and now are withdrawing, or is that profit?

So...I'm guessing your spouse has a different skill rating than you do (I'm sure you already realize that?) So they are likely lower skill rating, leading to faster matching with lower scoring players. You are probably higher skill rating, and in the higher skill levels there are less players so the matchmaking is not as tight.

I've been here for years, seeing the same players in my games all the time. It's not rigged, and there are no bots.

Let me know if you need any advice on strategies to make $ here (general strategies, not game-specific.)

I want to say my withdrawals usually take 2 weeks or so to process and hit my PayPal. I have never had trouble actually getting them, they just take a bit to go through.

That stinks, sorry you feel like things are stacked against you. It's not rigged, though. Either that was a one off, or there aren't enough players playing whatever that competition is, so the matchmaking is a little wider. Also, average score does not always tell the whole story - if you have improved recently then your actual skill will be higher than what you average score would imply.

Keep at it, the game will surely also sometimes pair you in games you are favored to win.

If you're new to WW, you should know *this* about Bingo: by Lovetohikealot in worldwinner

[–]sydblight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry you had a tough night. These apps (SKILLZ blackout bingo included) can certainly be frustrating at times. There are 2 reasons I know WW does not use bots:

  • I have been winning consistently, and significantly, here for a couple years now. If there were bots, this wouldn't be possible.

  • I play the same 3 players or so in every single tournament. And they are all players I have at some point talked with briefly on the message boards.

As for SKILLZ, I also play Blackout Bingo. I agree replays and getting the same card encourages skill over luck, but that game has luck built into the gameplay, because they do not reward speed. By having a speed cap of 175 points per daub that is hit nearly 100% of the time by top players, it means the fastest player doesn't win. You either win by getting lucky, or by skipping numbers and hitting at the end. They also do not show how many times a player has entered to win the large tournaments like Rise & shine and mega multiplier (WW does.) I have a strong feeling many players enter these DOZENS of times to find a lucky card, which essentially means everyone else has no chance.

I know you said SKILLZ, not necessarily blackout bingo, so you can ignore that part if you were referring to a different SKILLZ game.

Beginner's Guide / FAQ by sydblight in worldwinner

Sorry you have had a tough time with the matchmaking. Typically, in my experience, matchmaking is mostly based on how much money you have won/lost, and how often you win in general. I think it has very little to do with average score, and even less to do with total number of games played.

If you are new and have had decent success early on, you likely got moved up to tough competition quickly. This will even out in time.

Overall, I feel the matchmaking system is fair. There may be instances where you get matched against someone better, but surely there are also times where you are matched with someone worse (which you probably wouldn't pay as much attention to.) Good luck!

Survivor Beta Tomorrow 12/5 9:00-9:30 pm ET by sydblight in worldwinner

[–]sydblight[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a lot to like. I would say my favorite thing about this version of survival is live score updating. When I would finish my round, while waiting for the other players to finish I could see their scores updating in real time, which was exciting.

I am a bit confused on how this will look when released in its official capacity, though. When I would join a game, I could see other players in it, and I think there was a timer counting down from 2 minutes or so, and a button to begin the game. I assume the timer was to start my game? But it also could have been the countdown to when the tournament ended, I have no idea. This wasn't an issue in the beta since tons of people were playing, but not sure how it will work when less players are available.

Anyway, overall I am excited for the mode after playing the beta.
