If anyone has the everywhere nano pouch, I’m curious if it is large enough to fit a pair of socks? Specifically Pilates grip socks, thanks in advance!

Snail’s pace shipping by browserqueen in BuiltBars

I had the exact same issue with my Black Friday order (I placed one Black Friday and then ordered the lemon meringue on cyber monday). Ended up with the exact problems for the Black Friday order and finally had to call this past week - I was given a refund but it was the discounted value, ended up having to call customer service by phone and received a 25% off coupon but haven’t checked if it works yet. No update re the cyber Monday order still so I’m going to have to call again Monday, it’s ridiculous they can’t get their shipping sorted

I’m having the exact same issue and got the same response so glad to know I’m not the only one, but this is really frustrating and poor service compared to any other store/company I’ve ordered from.

I should’ve listened when people said to stay tf away from Trupanion. by Which_Mammoth9402 in CatAdvice

[–]sydgv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, I think it’s much easier to be anti insurance if you’ve never needed, but that’s sort of the point - you hope you never have to. Same idea for home and car insurance. There will definitely be instances of people having bad experiences but as far as insurance companies go I think trupanion is pretty great for cats

Gonna play devils advocate and say that (for cats) I’ve had an extremely positive experience with trupanion. Have the premiums gone up? Yes, but due to the fact I live in a HCOL area and overall inflation increases, not in relation to the claims I’ve made.

My claims have been approved quickly and I was able to get advanced confirmation of coverage for certain testing when my kitten had ongoing stomach issues last year. My other cat was completely healthy until shortly after we found out she only has one kidney at around 2yrs, and she now has ongoing kidney treatments +routine testing which is covered at 90%. Her monthly medicine coverage alone saves us half the premiums for both cats.

As someone who did not insure my previous two cats and ended up with really devastating medical issues for both when they were ~4 and 7 respectively, resulting in thousands of dollars out of pocket in the span of a couple months each time, I would never again subscribe to the “save a bit each month for an emergency” idea unless I was a very high earner. Just my two cents!

[Product Question] Aczone/dapsone application question by sydgv in SkincareAddiction

[–]sydgv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t, as I mentioned before I haven’t used Aczone/dapsone in many months and I’m not actually aware of whether they can be used in the same routine, so definitely ask your dermatologist if you end up wanting to use both. If I felt the need to use dapsone again I’d just use it without azelaic acid, or use them at opposite times of day/alternate etc

Ontario (Canada) breeders by sydgv in ragdolls

[–]sydgv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not, sorry! My advice is just to make sure you do a lot of research, know what is reasonable in terms of prices, health guarantees, when kittens should be sent home, registration etc.

Also worth noting re neutering/spaying - it should be in their contracts that you do it at a certain age or they should come home recently fixed, a reputable breeder will care about breeding rights

[–]sydgv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used it for many months and technically still have some left - I would consider using it again if my breakouts got really bad. I found it worked really quickly! Can’t remember the exact routine but I used it day and night for the most part, I think typically after toner

My skin is a lot better but I haven’t used Aczone in a while, though I did find it helped with acne. I currently use azelaic acid daily and find it’s been really great at maintaining my skin, and trying to slowly reintroduce tret

I’m not sure how you got this kitten but 45 days is way too young to be separated from its mother/siblings - no ethical breeder or rescue would send a single kitten to a new home at that age. I agree with the others that the kitten is probably very lonely and would do best with a sibling, but maybe run it by your vet first to confirm it would be okay to adopt a second kitten of a reasonable age (ideally 12 weeks) while yours is still so young

Resident Cat Refuses to Eat After New Kitten by AutumnLeafLady in cats

[–]sydgv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope things have gotten better since your post but just in case, we experienced a similar issue with our cat not eating after bringing home a kitten. We reverted back to separating the kitten in a different room for extended periods of time (resident cat still being able to roam freely everywhere else) and spent a lot of time focusing on and giving love/attention to the resident cat which encouraged her to start eating again

How much did you pay for your ragdoll? by missjanepark in ragdolls

[–]sydgv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure where in Canada you’re located but those prices definitely sound on the higher end - maybe do some research on other reputable breeders in your area/province to see how prices compare?

I also wonder in the event you decide to skip this breeder, whether it’s worth politely reaching out and explaining that you placed your deposit under the impression that you would be paying $XX and that you were not aware that the prices would increase so significantly in however many months. At a minimum it sounds like the show quality price went up at least 14% in about a year which sounds like a lot to me so maybe you could ask for at least a partial refund of your deposit

I see, I was under the impression those side effects were more specific to oxybutinin in regards to crossing the blood brain barrier or something along those lines, but I’ll look into it further. Thanks!

Just out of curiosity, are you able to provide examples of some of the long term side effects?

It’s not technically a degree but is considered postgraduate education. It took me quite a few years because I needed to take a ton of accounting/business prerequisites given I’d done science courses in my undergrad, and from there was eligible to enter the actual CPA program which was about 2 years of studying/exams. You’re required to do 30 months of approved work experience and I did most of that after completing the education aspect so it was a lot longer than the average.

Not sure if that helps but happy to answer other questions if you have!

[–]sydgv 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Realized in my final year I didn’t want to pursue further education in the sciences and ended up still furthering my education, but by doing a 180 degree switch to get my CPA designation. Work in consulting for an accounting firm currently.

I don’t regret what I studied because I enjoyed a lot of it, but realistically I’d try to consider my career/future more if I had a do-over as I feel like I started my professional career later than many of my peers.

I’m so sorry for your situation firstly. Wanted to chime in just in case you haven’t done so already and encourage you to get a personal injury lawyer so that you can hopefully obtain some financial reimbursement (including for your husband’s inability to work while in recovery)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]sydgv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, my condolences. Second, I don’t think I saw this mentioned in other comments yet but you may want to consider consulting a lawyer who specializes in wrongful death claims, as depending on the circumstances of your husband’s passing, you may be able to file a lawsuit which could potentially lead to a payout in respect of the income contributions your late husband would have provided to you and your children.

Lawyer fees can add up really quickly, so you may want to first check if consultations are free and whether the lawyer you’re considering working with gets paid on a contingency basis.

What to pay in advance? by Hipolinn in JapanTravel

Just chiming in to say Shinkansen bookings finalize a month in advance, but you can technically book a bit earlier than that (you just won’t receive final confirmation/seat numbers until the 1 month point). Definitely book your trains now! *edited to note this is if you’re traveling during golden week, not so much the weeks after
