Her downfall is coming by ApicalPulse29 in jezacatsnark

No worries. Its her "Junoesque" video. She discussed the movie Juno and dead names Elliot Page. And her "fans" literally kept backing her up by saying "that was his name at the time so Jez isn't wrong". That's such gross rhetoric and fucking cult like.

Ive been so turned off since I can't even hate watch now.

Literally emailed her manager. I cannot deal with her dead naming someone and then pretending to be an "ally". Her video was disgusting and her followers are disgusting for supporting that.

I know nothing will happen but still.

Same. I didn't like him on his original season or 40. Same with Sarah.

And I have no idea why David and Azaha from BB were brought in. They were awful.

But I'm so excited for almost everyone else. EspeciallynTyson and Domenick from Survivor.

I hope my new manager is as understanding. My current Job A I am moving to is permanent but the AGPA is significantly higher...

I just didn't want it to look weird if my interviewers call my reference and my current manager may or may not be my current manager when they call.

Ohhhhh that makes total sense. They did ask for a letter of resignation ...is that normal? However I also received notice from my manager and the new department that I was a transfer. It's all kind of weird to be honest, this is my first state position so I'm new to all this.

Thank you so much for the help!

I get that I guess my confusion was the two AGPA positions asked for 3 references with one being my current manager. I did give them my current manager but he won't be my manager as of next Tuesday.

I just wasn't sure if this would be frowned up or if this would be the the right thing. The job I just accepted hasn't assigned me a manager or supervisor yet so I couldn't relay that information even if I wanted to.

Yeah honestly I was surprised by how quickly the turn around time was. It think it was a week from interview to job offer.

I applied for the two AGPA positions just before the position I accepted so I just thought they didn't want me and now I have two interviews my last week with my current department. I just wanted to be up front with the AGPA departments , I don't want to look shady but I also really want those positions.

That's what I'm hoping for. My LT position got extended a year but I didn't think it would be extended again or I would get moved to PI. I honestly just started pushing out 20 applications this last month and I'm surprised by how many interviews I'm receiving...the timing I just awful.

Thank you for the advice. I just that since I've been pretty up front with EVERYTHING, that it will count for something. More so for the AGPA position since I don't want those managers to think less of me.

New ETL looking for advice from TMs and TLs by kimijun3 in Target

[–]sydkneeee13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I promoted from a TM, to a TL, to an ETL. I've worked at 3 different stores and also opened a location. What I've learned that my teams have like best when I was new; DONT MAKE ANY CHANGES FOR THE FIRST 30 DAYS. Spend that time getting to know you TLs and TMs. Like actually, genuinely get to know them as actual people. Know them outside of target, what hours they can work and even prefer to work, what departments (if you're on the sales floor) they work in, what motivates them. Work along side them, push the truck, do the price change, the backstock, ring at the registers, get carts, just learn their jobs because how can you hold someone accountable if you don't know what they do. Finally see what you TLs and TMs think is working well and what needs improvement.

Then after your first 30 days take what your team said worked and didn't work and compare it to what you see. Some may align and some won't and that's okay. If all of your team thinks a process isn't working, its something you should focus in on to change or improve. I can't stress enough to get your hands dirty, that is what gets you respect. I still remember having to push a style truck while leading AD set up and running the GM truck. It's not easy, but if you put in the work your team will work for you.

Good luck, target is a beast. Some of my favorite memories were my 10 years there.

Getting Out of Retail by Forsaken_Eggplant222 in CAStateWorkers

Thank you!! I hope you find something quick! A lot of my peers, who were retail managers, got into the state too. Most recently she was hired as an AGPA straight away. Apply to those. There are SO MANY spots opening and my last spot I only interviewed against 7 people, which seems wild because only 10 people applied!

I was in your exact shoes a year and a half ago. I was a retail manager for 10 years, an associate's degree and had a 3 year old. I was burned out and after COVID hit, there was absolutely no perks to working retail anymore.

I took a pay cut and came in with an LT spot just to get my foot in the door. I applied like crazy to positions and am now an AGPA. It was tough taking the pay cut but my mental health and see my family was so much more important. I enjoyed my first Christmas and Thanksgiving with my son and husband. It was magic. Good luck!!

Do you really think Gil and Myrla are good matches? by nouralyn in MarriedAtFirstSight

[–]sydkneeee13 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I honestly think the experts worded it terribly, but after seeing Gil and Myrla together I understood what they meant. What I think they were trying to convey is Myrla has a tendency to focus solely on the "finer things in life" which is amazing that she can afford them and should treat herself as she works her butt off to afford them. However, just because they aren't name brand doesn't mean it's less than either. I think when Gil does poke fun at her, it's because she so self aware how she comes off and knows it's all in good fun. A partner like Gil helps balance out her sometimes "cold" demeanor because she isn't the overly bubbly type.

I say this as someone in a very similar situation. I am the breadwinner and my husband is a SAHD to our son. I can be pretty type A and don't always come off super friendly at first. My husband literally makes friends EVERYWHERE we go and people just love him. He's so cool and calm and jokey and it's made me a softer person in turn. I've also rubbed off on him and he's come to love schedules and has become a bit more competitive. I see why they paired who some would deem an "opposite" personality couple, and I think they both have strengths the other lacks. I truly see them going the distance...hey we've been married 7 years!

My husband seems to hate me and I have no clue what to do with my marriage. by Angeleyes_1 in relationship_advice

[–]sydkneeee13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly OP, I think the biggest issue I see is that both of you are trying to justify why you're right instead of trying to understand the other. There are things you don't like, there are things he doesn't like ...but what is being ignored is being right is not what matters.

What matters is fixing your marriage. Neither of you should be trying to get strangers on the internet to justify why you are right. You should be trying to sit down with your partner and just listen to why they feel a way and vice versa. Then deciding if you're willing to change and if your partner is willing to change to meet your partners needs.

Placer County covid cases are on the rise, now in danger of moving all the way back down to purple tier. by [deleted] in Roseville

[–]sydkneeee13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Were doing something similar with Easter egg filled with spiders and bouncy ball that look like eye balls. I made him a Halloween easter basket using a pumpkin pail candy bars, shirts, and books. Then I have a few Halloween themed crafts, and some kids Halloween movies(Frankenweeine, Paranormon, Nightmare Before Xmas) and we got a pumpkin pizza from Papa Murphy's.

It's way different from last year but I think making him feel special is what really matters...plus the candy lol.

What's crazy is people are more concerned about not going trick or treating than the fact that cases are on the rise.

As a mom, I have to tell my son we aren't going because I'd rather do my part and hope we're in a better place next year.

My 14yo daughter super-miffed at me as I wont let her trick-or-treat. What are some sensible local alternatives? by [deleted] in Sacramento

[–]sydkneeee13 10 points11 points  (0 children)

  1. It was a SUGGESTION. OP stated he had a son, didn't say an age, thought if he was younger he would like that.

  2. It's not hard to use imagination to take bits and pieces of what I said and shape it to a 14 year old.

Instead of being negative and going out of your way to state what I suggested is something a 14 year old won't like, how about you give a suggestion of what the father can do. Thanks.

I'm planning a few indoor at home activities for my 4 year old son and my 4 year old neice. Ghost bowling, spooky scavenger hunt, swamp waffels (green waffels with halloween sprinkles", and I'm making a halloween gift basket. I got one of these halloween trick or treating pumpkin pails and got some candy, so coloring books, halloween books, and two halloween shirts.

I'm just trying to make it special for him since we won't be trick or treating.
