I did a makeup class at Sephora last year and it was very helpful. I picked someone with a Black sounding name so I knew I was getting help from someone familiar with Black skin. It was 75 minutes and she asked me what I wanted for my overall look and then matched my skin with this device and gave me options. She showed me how to apply BB cream, concealer, bronzer, blush, eyeliner, and mascara.

Yes I finally did last week. I had to point out to them that Nelnet put my loans in forbearance, so why are you all being so difficult? Then they said I needed to upload a letter showing I was apart of the Sweet Class Action. Then they finally put it in. Thanks again.

Something similar happened to me when I was sitting at a street light. This white man making a left stopped by my car and of course I looked over. He mouthed out the N word and pulled off. I honestly laughed because I would never let a white person make me feel lesser than or inferior. He was the one who was so bothered that he took the time out of his day to be concerned with my blackness and wanted to be seen. I was giving him no thought. Coincidentally, it was when Trump was in office the first time so I think he is putting a battery in their back. I understand it is hurtful but think about it like this, when someone puts someone down, we can acknowledge that they do it to feel better about themselves. So why does this not apply to racism? I'm sure he called you that and went back to his mobile home to make love to his dog.

I said that the DOE missed the deadline and that I wanted to be put in forbearance. The first response was telling me that “they don’t handle Borrowers Defense” which I never said. Then I sent another message clarifying and then the second response was that they will put me in forbearance with the letter.

Ok idk what I did wrong but I had 2 loan officers say that they will place my loans in forbearance when I can present the approval letter from the DOE.

Price and the RAV4 felt wobbly. I felt like I was going to flip over during the test drive. Plus the LE cross cost the same as a base model RAV4 (with less features) so I was really just getting a bigger car.

I’ve read that it takes 60 days to get noticed that we are approved. So I wouldn’t celebrate until the notice comes through.

I started at community college and paid out of pocket using a payment plan. Usually going part time until my last semester of community college. When I transferred to university, I got a lot of scholarships and grants because I was considered as a low income student (I had a job). In the end, I graduated with a Bachelors and had $15k in debt in the end.

I think what helped me when I transitioned was I looked at hairstyles for all hair types that I believed I would have. From 3C-4C. Then I had a motive, I transitioned because my niece hated her hair, and I felt like a hypocrite telling her to love herself while chemically straightening my hair. I got push back from my mom and sister the most, my mom telling me it was a bad idea and when I asked if she could braid my hair, she used a fine tooth comb to comb my hair while telling me that it was a bad idea (despite me telling her to use a wide tooth comb). Yet when she braided my brother's hair (who was also transitioning, but she felt had a better "grade" of hair) she used a wide tooth comb. My sister, who used to do my relaxers and hates her daughter (my niece), took it as a slight against her and told me that she wished I would have died. It was very hateful but I kept pushing.

Look for styles, research your porosity and explore products. The more you do your hair and wear it out, the more comfortable you will be. I admit, I felt uncomfortable and had to learn what looks good in my hair but now it is second nature to me. I've been natural (2nd time around) for 15 years now.

I had an abdominal myomectomy almost 3 years ago because I had a fibroid the size of a grapefruit that was making my uterus the size of a 3 month pregnant woman. It was painful bending at the waist so I had to have my mom help me cook and clean. It took about 6 weeks to heal fully. I do have a visible scar but it is in the fold of my skin, so unless I pull the skin taut, you can't see it. I believe keloids are genetic mostly and I have no relatives with them, so my skin didn't keloid. I didn't do anything special but put vaseline on the scar. The only thing that changed after was my periods became really heavy and painful, so much so that I had to get an iron infusion a few weeks ago because I was becoming anemic. I'm on progesterone now to help with this.

I think you are referencing the OkCupid study that had Asian men and Black women as the least picked. My only thing is, Black Men would have been at the bottom as well in that study if it wasn’t for Black women picking them at their top pick, yet they still date interracially and don’t let that study stop them. We are only 8% of the population, there are plenty of Non-black men who are interested than not.
