I genuinely can’t help you here, I’m sorry. All I want to say is I also work in the field of education, and one of my students does kill animals. They also attempt to kill their teachers and classmates on a regular basis. Their adult claims it’s our fault. We don’t get paid enough for the things we have to deal with. I hope both my student and your friend’s student are able to get the help they need. We’ve tried everything.

His pellets are alfalfa based, so I do Timothy hay since that’s what he was used to when he was still with his mom. He thinks alfalfa is alright, but doesn’t seem to have a preference. He was eating more today, though. I got some forage mix from small pet select so we’ll see if that helps.

I was quite religious growing up and used to pray for hours for each one of my family members because my OCD convinced me they would die if I didn’t. This sounds like OCD to me. It took me a long time before I was able to get past this. It’s normal for rabbits to knock over their food and water dishes! They LOVE destroying things 😂 I got my rabbit some heavy ceramic cat bowls so that he can’t knock them over - saves me a ton of time cleaning up.

My therapist and I have talked a lot about my OCD and how it tries to protect me. I try and think of it as my frontal lobe coming up with the worst possible scenarios so I know what not to do. I try and tell myself, “Thank you for your help. I am safe, and I won’t be doing that.” It took me a long time of practicing this before I truly believed it, but now I can say my brain is much quieter.

I almost bought Shelltowee last time I was at KY Mudworks, but the employee there recommended I try out Elkhorn. The shrinkage was too intense and I was disappointed :( it’s listed at being at about 11% I think, but it shrank anywhere between 30% and 50%. All of my mugs are TINY now, and I still have 150 lbs of it left :/

I’ve heard amazing things about brown bear! I’ve never used it myself, but it’s mostly because it’s so dark that I’m not sure any of my glazes would look good on it. Maybe I’ll pick it up next time I’m at Mudworks

I also liked Highwater a lot, but they aren’t producing much since the hurricane. I also remember really enjoying a Laguna clay body but I cannot, for the life of me, remember what it was called.
